Calm Land Disasters (Open)

The wind blew the scent of grass, flowers, blood, and oil over the nose of the human. ‘Man, what a mess…They really must rename this place. The calm lands, it isn’t.’ Cypher thought. Intense yellow eyes roamed the scene before him. A destroyed hover craft, slaughtered bodies of both fiend and humans…Whatever had happened had been missed by the Red Mage, but it didn’t look at though it had happened to long ago.
The swordsman jumped down from the hill, landing softly only to jump down to the next ledge before standing in front of the scene. He tilted his head slightly, walking softly and looking to his left and right, not seeing a soul, fiend or otherwise in sight.
‘Just what on Spira is going on?’ he thought as he continued to move closer. It had been years since Sin was killed, there had been no sightings of Sin Spawns, and even the fiend population was dropping due in thanks of not having entire villages wiped off the face of the map every so often. He continued closer to the wreckage and bodies, tilting his head slightly as he stood before it.
‘Deep gashes on both fiend and body, and the hover craft looks like its missing parts of it,’ he thought, looking around and not seeing those missing parts anywhere. He was no detective, but clearly, whatever had done this didn’t care what was in its way…fiend, machina, or human, they all got the same treatment.
This was the third such scene he had run into in the past three days, once a day.
‘At least it’s not as bad as yesterday…poor kids,’ he thought to himself before looking around. He wouldn’t disturb the bodies, last thing he needed was more blood on his hands, much less, for someone to come along and blame the dark clothed man.
‘It would be my luck…’
He did, however, walk closer to the human bodies, and it looked like it was a pair of them. Looked like, cause like the hover craft, parts were missing. He did count two heads though, and had walked over to them, closing their eyes.
‘Yeah, humans…normal eyes.’ He noted. He sighed and shook his head, before continuing his walk through the calm lands. He didn’t have a clue what was doing this, but it was irritating him. Somewhere in these lands, was the creature doing this. He would find it. He would kill it. It was, at least, some atonement, some act of vengeance. Maybe after it was dead, he wouldn’t feel so empty anymore…But these lands were large and vast. It would take a while to track and find. And again, not a soul in sight…
“Where are the venders and the gamers? I know this place became a damn side show after Yuna killed Sin, almost as bad as Zanarkand,” he muttered to himself. And even then, there were no fiends, no chocobos…It was like everything had fled, like a murder of crows before a storm.
“Bastard must be here…whatever it is.” With those final words, he continued his hunt.

Night comes quickly in the Calm lands, or rather, so it seemed. Maybe it was true, or rather, maybe he had just lost track of time. Regardless, he found it darkening while he was almost dead center of the plains. Still, he had not run into anything, not a fiend, not a bird, not even a damn chipmunk. It was deserted.
‘Just what the hell am I hunting?’ he thought to himself, before taking a seat on the ground, his back against a boulder. He took this time to reflect and review everything he knew about this creature.
He had first run into such a scene three days ago, when he found a large fiend, or rather the remains of such a creature, in the Macalania woods. There had been rather large gashes on it, but at the time, Cypher didn’t really bother to investigate it. It was just a dead fiend, nothing special.
But as he continued towards the calm lands, that was when he noticed yellow feathers everywhere on the path. As he investigated, he found the remains of could only be a group of chocobos, as well as their handlers. Al Bhed, from the looks of them, and they weren’t all adults. It looked like a total of seven adults and four children, from the parts he could see. That was when he recalled the gashes on the previous fiend, and saw they matched up to the same gashes on the ground, trees, and bodies.
And now, on the actual Calm Lands, the pile of machine, flesh and fiend.
‘It just hunts, kills…it doesn’t seem to care what’s in its way…could be an Eater, or maybe some sort of Behemoth or even a Chimera, could even be dragonnoid in origin,’ he thought, setting up a small camp for the night. He didn’t bother setting up a fire for the night. He was more comfortable in complete darkness then to have to adjust time and again each time he looked away from a fire. So, in darkness he waited, his piercing yellow eyes glowing faintly in the moonlight.

Emerald was teleported into a big giant field of of nothing but greenery and some rock and was along side a mountain area. Wondering why the portal had brought her to this place but decided to investigate what was going on. Emerald had notice it was dark and obviously it was night time and only the ugliest monsters would be out at this time of the day. Gripping her sword on her waist as she walked through the open field. Nothing in site, no monsters at all. As she continued on the path she notice something yellow glowing faintly in the moonlight. Drawing her sword she pointed it out at the yellow glowing color, "Show yourself!" Emerald shouted as she pointed the sword straight at the yellow glowing eyes.

Cypher paused in his inner thoughts as he started to hear the sound of grass being crushed. He turned his head slightly, yellow eyes staring in the direction of the sound.
‘Could this be it?’ he pondered, before he heard the voice.
Yellow eyes moved from knee level up to nearly six feet high as Cypher stood up, staring at the direction of the female. As he stared at her, his armor chest and back seemed to shimmer slightly in waves of darkness. Just who was this person? Didn’t she know the danger she could now be in?
It was an odd few minutes of him staring at her, not saying a word just yet. His eyes met her own, as if he was trying to understand exactly what he was seeing.

Emerald couldn't understand why this person was staring at her with out giving her an answer. It was as if he was trying to look at her for an answer or trying to understand something. Without blinking she shouted, "Show yourself now!" Emerald demanded as she kept pointing the sword at the face of the man. His chest plate shimmered slightly and she knew it was someone that wasn't a monster but she could never really know for sure because anything could happen. Then suddenly out of nowhere she heard a loud growl from something that seem very dangerous. Turning around all she could see was darkness and she walked backwards a few steps. "What was that?" She spoke out loud to herself.

Cypher continued to stare at her for a moment, his eyes lingering on her blade for a moment before he took a few slow steps forward. He continued to watch her blade, then along her hand and arm, as if trying to decide something.
Just as he was opening his mouth to say something, he too heard the growl.
‘Hm, so all that was needed was to make some noise…perhaps, that was the reason the hover craft was attacked, as well at the others…’ he thought to himself quickly, before he finally spoke.
“I am not the one to be concerned with. That, however, is the reason I am here,” he said, his voice soft, yet heavy, like a breeze before a storm. He slowly shifted his stance, looking almost like a samurai as he slowly unsheathed his Mythril Blade, the moonshine reflecting off of it slightly.
Another deep growl was heard as the ground seemed to shake slightly, the outline of a larger creature slowly becoming clearer to Cypher’s yellow eyes.
‘What on earth is that?’ he pondered, gripping his blade tighter.
“I certainly hope you can fight…” he said to the female as the creature came closer : It was an Eater, however, not one that he had ever seen before. It was smaller than the more aggressive types, such as an Anything eater, but larger then a Chocobo Eater. Another factor he noticed : it seemed to be missing part of its face, for that and its entire body was riddled with deep scars. It roared viciously, before it seemed to start charging for the duo.

Emerald saw the the man with the blue hair and yellow eyes wore something like of a samurai would wear. But as she listened to him she dropped her blade down and could hear and feel the ground shake around them. Emerald had almost lost her balance as she wasn't expecting to have the earth. As what seem to draw closer the form of the savage beast was clear. Emerald's eyes drew bigger as she set her eyes on the beast, it had a rather large face but no face and two low arms with huge fist and claws. The body had been through a lot and must have survived lots of battle due to the scars. She never seen anything like it, she was use to beastmen from her planet but nothing so....savage looking. "Back at cha." She spoke sarcastically back toward the man.

Emerald dodged to the right of her as the creature slammed its left hand right at her. She barely missed the attack. It was quite fast with its attacks but could tell the body itself would be slow to react and move. Grinning she lifted her left arm and blasted a fire spell at the creature. A wave of red fire bursted from her hands and went straight toward the front of the creature. With that being seen almost was a distraction, which caused emerald to sprinted toward the back of the creature and leap at its back with a full on down strike with her sword on the creatures back. Hopefully this guy knew how to fight because from the sound the creature made from both attacks it was really pissed off and angry.

Cypher watched the female blast it with the fire spell and attack its exposed back. It was during that moment that he noticed something in the light of the flames : The creature had no eyes, and it seemed to turn towards the noise of the flames.
‘I think it relies only on its sense of hearing…one way to test that,’ he thought, as he started to rush towards the creature. Cypher was very fast for a human, and once within striking distance, he spoke.
“Is this all an illusion?” he asked the air simply, only for a fist to swipe towards the sound of his voice. He just managed to jump over the fist, slicing through the thick forearm before landing and jumping backwards as a fist struck the area where he was just standing.
‘So, sound it is…’ he thought, and the puzzle was complete. It attacked because it didn’t know what was there, and it ate whatever it found…
‘Junk eater,’ he thought with the vaguest hint of what could be a smile. That was until his body started to shimmer with black energy.
‘Dark,’ he thought, sending out a orb of black energy, which slammed into the creature. It might as well have been a fly attacking a tree for all the good it seemed to do.

Emerald could tell this monster had some defense as its strikes were not cutting to it as well as her magic. She began to think to herself to see what she could do. Then it came to her, maybe one of her weapon skills she was taught by her dad that was infused with magic and physical damage. It was worth a try she thought. With a small breath she raised her sword and began to fuse her magic with her sword. The first strike came fast to the right as it produce ice damage as it striked the creature. Then she came down in a curve with a wind strike, then back to the right with a fire strike. It had produced a Z strike and with the final touch with the skill she raised her sword in the air as lightning flooded the sword as she came striking down with the sword toward the beast. Smiling she jumped backwards in hopes it was enough damage to wound the monster. This moved was called Chant du Cygne, it was a family trandition skill that came from her father and his father and his father. It was her first time using it on an emey and hoped she did it justice.

the attacks looks like the first two attacks in this video but the second skill comes first before the first one. then just picture the elements adding to the strikes.

And damage the creature it certainly did, such a move seemed to crack and burn through the creature’s tough skin. Cypher saw the attack and figured it was time to add to the damage that was dealt. He didn’t have any type of special yet that he was ready to unleash, but he was certainly far from helpless.
Just as the creature started to stumble back from the intense attack, Cypher rushed on in head first. His shifted his blade slightly and went to slam his blade into the damaged area. However, that was when things took a turn for…well, not for the worst.
As the blade sank into the damaged area, the creature roared in pure hatred, shaking his body and slamming its arm against its chest. Unfortunately for Cypher, he was still hanging on to his sword when the creature’s hand slammed into his back.
With a massive grunt of pain and effect, he hung on to his blade, before placing his hand just over the damaged area.
“Double Cast: Fire.”
From almost point blank. Clearly, this black clothed warrior had some sort of death wish, or just wasn’t thinking clearly. Or, he just didn’t care.
The blast of fire energy slammed into the creature’s chest, followed closely by the second one, creating a larger blast of magical flames, which sent the blue haired male flying backwards and landing painfully on the ground. He gasped in pain before looking up at the creature, which seemed to still be burning in his chest, stumbling around as it cried out in pain.
‘Hm, still alive…and it has my blade…’ he thought, seemingly enough, slightly irritated with this train of thought, instead of focusing on his own injuries as he very slowly started getting up to his feet.
“I’m going to need that back,” he grumbled as he stared hard at the creature.

Everything had happened so fast that Emerald just saw the man fly backwards but with a great attack. It allowed him to cast two spells right after each other. It was of course a red mage, she learned it was a double cast that they could do as their specials. Smiling the creature was about dead and sent a small fire wave that covered the creature and engulfed with fire. She walked to the creature and placed her sword straight into the the damaged chest. Emerald heard the last dying screams of the monster as she released the sword from the chest and placed it back on her waist. Sprinted toward the man with blue hair she felt as if he was brave going head on with such an attack. "Are you okay...." She spoke as if she cared for him but then notice she was showing some time of emotion and quickly responded with a remark and punched him in the chest. "Are you foolish? You could have got yourself Killed by going head on!" She spoke as she grabbed his hand to help him back up on his feet. "By the way my name is Emerald Blackburn.....I'm not from this place." She spoke softly and waited for the response of this man.

Cypher saw the female deliver the killing blow as he was still struggling up to his feet. On one level, he was grateful she had been around…things probably wouldn’t have worked out so well otherwise. On the other hand, he was slightly annoyed that he hadn’t been strong enough to take this eater down.
‘Hm, and here I had dreams of taking down Sin…’ he thought, before realizing the female was right before him. As he was about to answer, the punch to his chest knocked him back down on his back. He bit the inside of his cheek to prevent the gasp of pain that such an innocent punch could provide.
He saw her hand and took it, slowly and gingerly getting up.
“I’ve been called worse…I’ll live, and that is all that really matters I guess,” he answered softly, before closing his eyes. The pain was really bad, but he learned long ago how to take care of himself.
“Cure,” he muttered, as the white orbs of light slowly started surrounding him before healing some of the injuries.
“Well Emerald Blackburn, my name is Cypherous Montarus. So, an off worlder…explains that attack,” he said, before slowly walking over towards the still burning beast and reaching for his blade, pulling it out and examining it, seeing a few minor chips that a sharpening couldn’t take care of.
“So, what brings you to the Calm Lands?”

Emerald smiled as he introduced himself to her. Cypherous Montarus, a very unquie name to her she thought to himself. Though she wasn't surprised because on her world there were many names like that which she couldn't even pronounce to describe. "This is called the Calm Lands? Not much calm if beasts are attacking people." She said sarcasticly with a little chuckle because of the remark she made toward the name of the place she was at. "I'm from Vana'Diel. I used that Unversial portal. Was thinking it would transport me to another city in my planet but was I wrong. I came her by accident." He spoke to Cypherous as she crossed her arms acrossed her chest. The calm lands was now indeed calm and at peace she could hear the breeze and just sense the night sky at rest. "Beautiful isn't it?" She spoke as she admired the bright sky of stars and the moon shining down on them.

Cypher almost smirked as she commented on the name, as it wasn’t too long ago he was thinking along the same lines. He listened to her story as he examined the beast. He took a bit of a time to examine the wounds on the creature, the wounds that were already there. He got down to one knee and ran a hand over one of the wounds and sighed slightly.
‘Damn…I knew this was too easy…this creature, while vicious, wasn’t the one I was looking for…In fact, it might have just been a victim like the others…’ he thought, before standing back up to his feet.
“The Calm Lands, named after the battles High Summoner’s had against Sin, and bringing in the next Calm. The Calm is the ten year period we had of peace from Sin, before it was reborn again. Sin, according to Yevon, was an embodiment of our sins against nature and allowing the use of Machina, or machines. It made the people lazy and slothful; thus, Sin was born, destroying everything in its path a thousand years ago,” he said softly. It was hard to explain the name without explaining a bit of the back story. Of course, there was more, but it was only known to a few, and he wasn’t one of them.
“Well, such an accident has clearly come in my favor, a change of luck in my case,” he said, staring up and looking at Emerald. She seemed lost in the beauty of the moonlight and stars, causing him to slightly grin. It was an odd feeling, his face normally in a constant state of neutrality.
“It is quite a sight to behold…” he said simply, before looking up at the moon, seemingly in troubled thoughts.
‘If this isn’t the creature, then perhaps…it was fleeing? If that is the case, at this point, I certainly hope it lost its pursuer,’ he thought. Though, with his luck, he wasn’t feeling too good on the odds.

Emerald was watching the stars and the moon but she was also listening to her new met friend who both of them just fought a monster that was nasty. She was being told the history of the Calm Lands which was what the place she was at. The story seemed very interested and wanted to know more about these battles. Turning her head to Cypher she smiled with a smirk, "Seems like a great story that keeps moving on. You say Sin is reborn every 10 years. Why doesn't your people learn to throw away these machines and machina. If Sin has been defeated why does it keep coming back and killing everything in its path.?" She spoke with questions and her thoughts to Cypher.

Emerald was very indeed interested and saw a large rock next to her. She walked over to it and sat down on top of the rock to listen to Cypher. Emerald was intrigued by the history of this world and couldn't wait to explore more of it. Though with such history their had to be a place where it all began. Ruins of some sort must be the birth of this history. "There has to be a birth to all this. Ruins of some sort?" She spoke in excitement as she jumped off the rock and wanted to explore this world.

Cypher paused for a moment as she hit the main hearts of the issues of Sin in such a fashion; he actually cracked a smile, though, since he was facing away, it went unseen. He slowly turned and met her eyes with his own yellows. It was hard to really start on what she had first asked, so he went with the second question first.
“That would be Zanarkand. It lies to the North, past these lands and beyond Mt. Gagazet, home of the Ronso and the final lands to cross for a Summoner. Many fell there…Gagazet is bitterly cold and many Summoners and Guardians failed to reach the summit, even fewer returning,” he said softly, before looking back up at the star lit sky.
“As for…throwing away Machina and machines…that is a complicated story, that all starts with the real reason that Sin was born. I’ve hunted for some time for the full truth, but I still don’t think I have the full story. What I do have though, pretty much threw everything that we knew of Yevon, the Aeons, and the past thousand years straight to the fiends,” he said, his voice growing slightly bitter. He seemed to take a deep breath, before staring back at her and starting.
“Sin, the embodiment of our wrong doings, for letting things get out of hand, was created in Zanarkand. It is said that, during the war between Bevelle and Zanarkand, that the leader of Zanarkand, Yu Yevon, created Sin by using the very people of his city. He turned them into fayth, merging their spirits together and creating the strongest of Summons, Sin. However, such a being was far beyond the control of Yu Yevon, and the Summon started to go on a rampage, starting with Yu Yevon himself, devouring his body and soul.
Now, this is where the facts and the myths start to get very hazy and hard to fully comprehend. His daughter, Yunalesca, found away to counter her father’s summon, but still in a way that defied logic. It was called the Final Aeon, the Final Summoning. She was the first. The method was lost to time, but she had sacrificed her husband, and in that bond of love, he became a fayth that was strong enough to defeat Sin the first time, at the cost of her own life as well, for you see : the Final Aeon also killed the Summoner.
Again, time and lies have buried up most of the truth, so I can’t say for sure why Sin kept returning. There are theories, there are stories...but the only one that really knows is the current High Summoner, Lady Yuna. And from my understanding, she isn’t talking to anyone about that moment. All we know is that Sin is gone, and we are now in the Eternal Calm. Again, we will find out for sure in the next 7 or so years,” he said, giving, accurately, the nutshell of the history of Sin and Spira. Of course there was much more to the story, but that was all he knew.

Emerald seemed confused though because why would someone kill their people. It seemed so unreal and wrong. "Don't see why Yu Yevon decided to do this...to kill his people and the rest of the word for our faults. That's not a fair judgement for one to make." She spoke but then she realized that with such power does not be controlled by others. Which could be seen that itself was its own consequences. "Where is this Yuna at? Maybe she knows the key for all of this." Emerald spoke then had thought of a better idea. She wanted to travel to this Zanarkand and maybe she will get the answers she needs even better Cyper will get to know these answers."I have an idea. Lets find the truth. We should move to this Zanarkand and take a look for ourselves. What do you say?" She asked Cypher with a smile. Emerald looked determined for an one answer that was yes. Either way she would head to this place to get more answers about this place.

(Oh dear gods, a buzzed reply, I hope this comes out well enough ><)
“To win a war, some will do almost anything and everything,” Cypher responded with a bit of a deep sigh. He listened to Emerald and seemed to shrug slightly in the darkness.
“Yuna…that is a good question actually. Normally, I would have answered on the Island of Besaid, but from what rumors I have heard, she has left the Island. So, no one really knows where she could have gone at this point. Honestly, I don’t think I could blame her from leaving…It would be unnerving and unreal to have everyone coming to you for advice on this and that. She is, for all intents, the leader of Spira, though from my understanding, she wants the title as much as we wanted this fiend to eat us…” he answered with a sigh.
“As for going to Zanarkand…it is an idea. Though, from what I’ve heard, its slowly becoming a tourist trap. Still, it might provide more answers…” he paused for a moment. In a battle with a fiend and perhaps half an hour of talking, she had already wormed her way under his defenses and caused him to already feel comfortable around her.
‘That is a first for some time…’ he thought with a slight mental shrug. Perhaps…he could live again.

Emerald heard tourist trap which thought almost disgusted. Hating the sound maybe she could maybe help bring Zanarkand peace by stopping the tourist trap. Making it a mission to Emerald she wouldn't stop till Zanarkand is at peace. "God, when you say tourist trap I really hope its not when I think that ment. Because if it is...I will easily get rid of the whole tourist thing in a heart beat. Ruins are supposed to be at peace not so people can use them to gain money or make it an attraction." She hissed as she spoke her mind to Cypher. Though she knew it wasn't his fault, because he was just telling her the facts. "Well I guess we should start heading now huh. How long you think it will take?" Emerald spoke as she felt like leaving right now but waited for Cypher's okay to do so.

“It probably is exactly what you are thinking. Though things are still on the ground floor, rumors indicate as ghost tour of some sort as one of the main attractions…” he said with a slight growl in his voice. He sighed and shook his head. It was disturbing how mankind could be so…idiotic.
“Anyway, if you are serious about going to Zanarkand, then we are in the completely wrong area to be gathering supplies, so I do hope you are prepared. It is going to be about a three to four day trip to Zanarkand from here, perhaps longer, depending on the weather on Mt. Gagazet. If not, we are looking at about a three day trip back through Macalania Forest and the Thunder Plains to Guadosalam to resupply,” he said with a shrug as he reached into his own supplies. He had enough for himself, some dried jerky, a canteen of water, and some medical supplies. Since it was normally him by himself, he never bothered with a tent or anything of that nature. He never minded the rain, nor did he ever really care about sleeping outside. So, it would all be up to her, if they needed to travel back or not.
“If we need to go back, it’s not that big of a deal. If you have the time, then so do I,” he added towards the end with a hint of…remorse in his voice.

Luckily Emerald came prepared, always having a few potions for medical supplies in handy at all times, as well as some food to last a few days which should be good enough for her. Plus a week long trip doesn't sound fun she thought to herself. "Well that doesn't seem fun to go all the way back for suuplies. I'm fine and have enough just for the trip to Zanarkand." She spoke to Cypher with a smirk. The weather would be the only problem in her eyes but she could get through it so she was determined. "Your leading the way then. Because I have no idea where I'm going. To zanarkand." Emerald shouted as she began to walk away from him hoping he would point her in the right direction. "Who would make such a thing in ruins. Thats just uncalled for. I'm going to get my hands on who ever is doing that kind of idiotic thing to those ruins." She shouted as she grinned with her clenched fist.

‘Just to Zanarkand? Then what?’ he thought to himself, before mentally shrugging. Hopefully, they would run into a travelling merchant on the way back, or perhaps, from the Al Bhed that are said to be running the tourist attraction there.
“Alright then, I’ll lead the way. Hopefully, things won’t get too hairy for the pair of us,” he said softly, before turning and facing to the Northern path.
“We travel North till we run into the base of that mountain,” he said, pointing skyward to the tip of a mountain that was visible at night only because of the stars behind it.
“Once there, we go up, following the path of the Summoners. If things go well, the Ronso won’t have too many problems with us making the pilgrimage through their land. They are good people, but are very strict in their beliefs. After that, it’s a downward steep to the Ruins of Zanarkand.
As for getting whoever is behind the tourist attraction, good luck. I heard the man behind it, Cid, is a bit of a loose cannon. Though, having never met the man, who knows what is true and what is rumors,” he said, before checking himself out and making sure his injuries with the fiend weren’t still too extensive on him. He felt alright, just sore.
“Alright, its already the middle of the night. If we wanted to, we might make it to the end of the Calm lands before sunlight,” he said, before taking the first few steps in the direction. He was used to several sleepless nights in a row, but he wondered if she would prefer to rest up and take off at dawn, rather than the middle of the night.

"If things do get hairy, I'm sure we could handle it. Plus we are two good warriors who can withstand a great fight. I trust you will have my back and that I have your back." She spoke to Cypher hoping to gain his trust. She was loyal to her word and nothing will ever break it. In time Cypher will know that Emerald is based off of loyal and morals. She will stand by her loyalties and do anything in her power to help them. Both of them began to move up north which was where the snowy mountain was located. It was a beautiful night that was not to cold or warm as it was just right. "Is there a chance they might not let us pass? Will they spot that i'm not from this world?" Emerald spoke with a small worried look but soon covered it up with a more serious look as she didn't care for the answer. She was going to go to Zanarkand no matter what. Even if it ment running for her life up the mountain from what ever this world calls them...Ronso. Loose cannon huh she thought to herself. Well it could be easier then she thought. "Well what we could do is scout to see what exactly he is doing and then play his own game on him. Or go straight balls to the wall and go head in first." She spoke out her plans that were merely ideas that could become a great plan. "Then we must be making good time if we can get there before the sunset!" She spoke with a smile as both of them kept walking north of the calm lands.

‘Trust? Hm, it’s been ages since I’ve trusted anyone…must less have anyone trust me,’ he thought as he listened to her questions and watched her body language. A sound passed over his lips that at first, actually startled him. After a few moments, he realized what it was : a chuckle. Something else that had been ages since he had last done.
“Balls to the wall huh? Now I’m starting to feel sorry for Cid, if this is the kind of company he’s going to be having,” he said with a small smile, before his face grew neutral again.
“There is always a chance that the Ronso could refuse us, and if that happens, it won’t be easy to continue on. I’m not saying we’re giving up, but it does make the path that much harder to take. I wouldn’t suggest fighting a Ronso, and I don’t think I could kill one unless heavily pressed. They took a large loss two years ago when One of the Maesters went berserk and started to kill them off because they refused him passage, after they found out he was going to kill Lady Yuna and her guardians…”
He paused for a moment to take a look around the Calm lands. They were in the Northern Quadrant, with a few more hours to make it to the mountain path, they were making good time. Still, he seemed to feel a bit uneasy as he looked around.
‘Well, whatever it was…I’m sure it’s moved on…Geez, can’t even lie to myself,’ he thought before taking the next few steps in the right direction.
“Hm, I said we might get to the path by sunrise, but if we keep pushing through the day, perhaps by night fall we can get up a third of the way up the mountain,” he said, knowing this was going to be a long trip.

Emerald laughed at the remark Cypher made about cid which ment he was certanly in trouble when they got to Zanarkand. She understood what it ment for honor and belief to go by so hopefully she could persuade them to allow them to move forward through the mountain. "That's terrible. Least their death was not invain as they stood their ground to protect Lady Yuna." He spoke back to cypher.

Then something came over Emerald, a feeling like someone was following them. But as both cypher and Emerald looked back it seem like their was no one. "Did you feel that. It seems someone is following us. Be on our guard." She spoke as she pulled out her sword and lowered it by her side just in case something attacked them.
