Sparring... Not Bad Once in a While (Zidane, expectators welcome)

It wouldn't be false to say that Wind hadn't tested his current fighting skills. Yes, he has slayed some creatures in forests and mountains, and sometimes even in town, but he never had the chance to fight against an humanoid creature, someone strong enough to make him fight all out.

He was not a person with "fighting" as his strongest trait. In fact, he considered himself to work a lot better when acting behind the scenes, moving the pieces from behind, instead of coming to the battlefield himself. But, without experience, he wouldn't be able to protect himself in case something went wrong. And that was exactly the reason of why he was standing at the entrance of the Hikaru Dome. It had been announced that a black mage (him) wanted to test his skills against somebody, and he knew someone strong would appear. But, sadly, he didn't know who.

He already had his Skull Staff in one hand. His pet, the wolf Oscu, was hiding behind him, in the shadows. He was a beastmaster, so pets were allowed for him to use. After all, he was better at commanding others.

He looked at the public: Not many people, but his outer appearance (a black cloak) clearly atracted attention.

Someone would certainly appear.

He was prepared for it.

Repede had came to this Hikaru Dome for one reason and one reason only.....to beat the ever-loving hell out of some guy that had wanted to do battle with who ever that wished to do face him. To make it even more fun the man was a fellow black mage so it would be rather fun to match magical skills against another, thus as Wind waited in his side of the arena he would see a young six year old child with black hair, red eyes, and pale complexion walk into the arena followed by a little girl with pale skin, white hair, and red eyes as well.

Repede looked at Wind with eyes cold and hard like that of a person who seen hell even at his young age, he then said "You are my foe?" "Me thinks cloak man gonna get hurt...yes me do~" chimed the little girl from behind Repede who snickered a bit before saying "Well you must be Wind.....I'll make sure to give you a good fight.....as long as you put up a good enough struggle that is." Repede soon waited for Wind to make the first move.......he WAS the one that set up this match so he should be the one to start it up proper.

All the while Vonvon was sniffing the air trying to find out why she smelled doggy meat.....mmm tasty doggy meat.....Before she got to stay too long though Repede then motioned with his hand for her to go sit in the stands, he was going to fight this guy solo. This did make Vonvon pout but she listened and walked off to the stands while Repede kept his eyes on Wind

At last, his opponent had arrived. He wasn't expecting anything big, but he found himself at the very least surprised about the enemy: A small child, red eyes, possibly six years old. Looking around in the infinite database of his mind, he immideately found the identity of this child. It was not surprise, but interest what flowed into his face. Yes, it was interesting. Almost too interesting. Wind smiled and walked some steps foward, making Oscu, his wolf, know with a movement of his hand to not follow him.

Sorry, but I can't promise you to make of this a good fight. I'm simply a newbie black mage, and I lack experience. But, please, even so, let us have a good match, demon child.

He started to charge dark energy on top of his staff. He formed a sphere, obviously a spell to be thrown at the child. He pointed the staff at his opponent and prepared to fire it.

But, instead of a sphere of darkness, ready to damage the child, Oscu, Wind's wolf, rushed from behind the mage's back, going straight at Repede. It had hidden behind the mage's cloak so the kid wouldn't instantly notice him. Oscu's claws were surrounded by darkness, and their reach suddenly increased with this energy, exactly 10 cm, and with tremendous strength, the strength of an animal that could clearly be the king of a forest, he jumped at Repede, trying to reach his body and maybe torn some of his skin apart.

Repede sighed and shook his head slightly when he heard the male adult would not be of much fun since he is rather weak it seems, he then said with a cold stare "Well at the very least make satisfying screams when I hurt you....I mean you can at least do that right can't you?" Repede smirked a bit before he watched the man get his staff ready which caused Repede's mind to focus on the task at hand.

It was then that the man pointed his magically charged staff at Repede which caused the child to get ready to defend, but instead of a spell flying at him he instead had some wolf rush out toward him from behind the older mage. The wolf had darkness flowing off it while its claws grew in size, which made it obvious to Repede it was going to try and do a melee attack. This combined with the fact that Repede and Wind had been a fair distance apart gave the child enough time to react.

He lifted up one hand and aimed it at the wolf just before it leaped at him, his mana shot through is body and into the hand to form a beach-ball sized sphere of solid ice magic. He quickly fired it at the wolf as he was sure the force of a Blizzara would be enough to knock it flying back, as he did that his shadow had went under ground and was poised to strike for Repede was using his underbite skill in tandem with his spells. As soon as the wolf hit the ground a mouth ten feet in circumference would burst out of the ground under it and try to snap shut on it, the shadowy mouth would then start to gnaw and chew on the wolf before spitting it out a fair distance away.

But of course this was all depended on if nothing happened to prevent those actions from happening......fate was a odd thing like that and could make Repede waste a fair amount of energy for nothing.

The kid was a great mage. Wind could see that coming when sensing his demonic powers. But his wolf probably didn't know. And that was the exact reason of why he was about to fall into a strong attack.

Oscu managed to notice the ice spell being launched at him. As he was in midair, it was going to be hard to avoid. He had no other choice: Oscu needed to block the ice spell or die trying. His mouth was instantly filled with dark energy in the form of dark flames. There was just a second or two before the spell reached him. In that brief time, Oscu let go of the flames and made them hit the ice spell. His flames were of the dark element, but they were flames after all. They emited heat. That, alongside the power of the attack named "Hellfire", was enough to counter the Blizzara spell. The attacks canceled each other.

The second spell, though, was not detected by Oscu. In fact, it was Wind the first one to see it. The mouth coming out of Oscu's shadow... It was truly disgusting. The moment Oscu touched the ground (no longer than two or three seconds) he would be bitten by the attack. Unfortunately, there was not much he could do in that short time. Let's be realistic: Thinking a plan in 2 or 3 seconds was an ability of high level. Wind sometimes could pull that off, but not in that moment. He just thought of one thing:

When Oscu touched the ground and the mouth surrounded him, biting him, Wind shot the dark spell he was charging in his staff at the mouth. Though it was a weak attack, it was strong enough to make the mouth release Oscu before time. The wolf went back to Wind. It was injured in his chest and legs, bleeding through some wounds, but he was not heavily weakened. Oscu could still fight without much change.

I've told you to not simply rush through the front, Oscu. It's never a good tactic... Wind patted the head of the wolf and then looked at the kid. Sorry, I've never screamed once in my life, so I don't know if they are pleasant. But I'm sure yours are better. I'm eager to hear them.

Wind charged once again charged a spell on top of his staff. But he and Oscu stayed on guard. It was the kid's turn to attack.

Repede frowned deeply when he saw the wolf had been able to block his ice spell but at least it stopped its charge and had allowed his other attack to get hold of the wolf, but just before the maw had snapped shut a darkness orb had flown in and must of hit something as Yami's many eyes widen in shock before spatting out the wolf much sooner than normal. The shadow sunk into the ground and appeared behind Repede as its many mouths had their tongues hanging out, clearly one could see that the tongues were bruised slightly by Wind's one attack. Repede reached out and stroked the shadowy tendril as he then said "Now why did you have to go and do that.......Yami hasn't had a good meal in a long time. Also *gives Wind a hateful glare* the last person who made me screamed.......is dead.....care to join that list?"

Repede was not happy with that comment Wind made and felt his temper flare a bit but he didn't get mad enough to go into a raging fit yet, he then saw the spell on the man's staff but he didn't care.......all he wanted was that wolf to be out of the way. He had come to fight a person not a damn trained dog, and so he knew a perfect little attack to use on it but he needed to draw it close to him again and so he sent Yami forward to get them worked up. He didn't expect any attacks to land a blow but it would piss them off enough for one or the other to charge at him....or maybe both if he is lucky.

The shadowy weapon thus shot across the ground as it stretched out, its eyes locked onto the wolf while its mouths grinned and cackled a bit. When they were closer the paper thin tendril jerked up and tried to stab into the wolf's head, it then slashed horizontally in what ever direction the wolf moved before it continued to stab and strike at the wolf like a cobra would do while chasing it around. Soon enough though the tip split and it formed a pincer instead with a single row of teeth on each side of the thin pincer, it was now trying to snip a limb off the wolf and would keep after it till yami got a hit or Repede called it back though the kid was comfortable were he is.....he had twenty feet to work with based on Yami's reach.

I see...

That was one interesting weapon. It could stretch through the ground like a shadow and attack the enemy through below. But he didn't have the actual time to praise the weapon. He needed to avoid being hit by it. No... Oscu needed to avoid it. The wolf probably already saw the shadow coming and decided to fight it head on or block its attacks at the very least. But Wind had other plans.

Oscu, go.

The wolf immideately understood the message. Some moment before Yami tried to stab Oscu's head, the wolf jumped back, avoiding it by a hair. Jumping back would also help him avoid the horizontal slash. But when it's feet touched the ground, it jumped again, this time to his left side, and then he started to run. Oscu simply ran far away from Yami. The weapon's next attacks would not be able to reach the wolf like that. Oscu ran at maximum speed, near the borders of the dome...

Oscu, before meeting Wind, had been the lord of a forest. He had to fight against fast creatures, even ones that could fly. Because of that, he was basically good at running fast at any kind of enviroment. The dome was even easier. He placed himself at the same distance from the kid, but from a different angle.

And Wind had also moved. The kid was concentrating too much on the wolf. He took the opportunity to move to his right side. He did the same thing that Oscu did: He placed himself at the same distance he was before from the kid, but this time, from a different angle. In other words, one was behind the enemy, and the other in the front.

That sorry excuse of a father died? Well, it seems that at the very least he managed to create a monster through all of those demonic experiments... Oops, shouldn't have left that slip out of my mind, right?

He stayed on guard. It was all part of his plan. Any reckless attack would probably play against him.

Repede was getting annoyed by the wolf really and had thought about just switching to the man who obviously wouldn't be as acrobatic as the pet, but then Wind had to go and really piss off Repede by bringing up his father and calling the child a monster created by that man. His body visibly shook as he turned his head to look at Wind and gave him a look of utmost hatred, as he did so his shadow started to jerk and twitch before the eyes of it became completely red without any pupils or cornea showing. Repede then said softly at first "How the hell do you know about that............who fucking told you about my worthless father!"

Repede started to get louder and less rational though soon as he then yelled "VONVON GET IN HERE AND EAT THE WOLF WHILE I RIP THIS WORTHLESS HUMAN APART!!!!" Repede was officially having a temper-tantrum as he started to stomp his feet while his his body shook in rage, and it was making his shadow lash about wildly as it dragged and cut into the ground all willy-nilly. As he did so the little girl called Vonvon jumped into the area and became covered in a bright red light, the light was bright enough to hide Vonvon's form but sure enough the mass of light started to grow and shape into something less child like and more like a monster.

When it was over instead of a little girl standing there, a now ten foot tall quarter ton giant insect took her place. The creature stretched its four arms out a bit and let its sharp claws open and close a few times, it even allowed its pincers on its head to snap open and close a few times as well. When it was finished stretching itself a bit it let out a buzzing screech before its wings on its back stretched out and started to rapidly flap, the large insect started to fly at high speeds toward the wolf with the intention of smashing into it with her great size and weight. Also if she could she would start to grab and snip the wolf with its sharp claws and pincers.....this fight was going to get bloody.

Repede attention was focused on Wind now as the kid was going to be pissed off for a while as he then sent his shadow underground once more, sure enough the ground under wind became a large maw that tried to snap shut on him but the real freak out factor was it was moving faster than it did before. As this happened Repede was screaming "KILL HIM KILL HIM KILL HIM KILL HIM RIP HIM APART!!!!"

The effect of his words had been larger than expected. As Wind thought, the kid called into the arena his companion, who ended up being a 10 feet sized insect, worthy enough opponent for Oscu. Now that the other fighter was in, Wind didn't have to worry for a sudden interruption. But he miscalculated the rage that came from inside the child. The large insect charged at Oscu, and the child himself went after Wind. Wind was still learning the proper ways of fighting, and thus found himself in a difficult situation. Not a situation he couldn't control, but a difficult situation indeed.

Oscu knew that if Vonvon reached him, the damage would be big. But the distance that separated the two of them was also big. Oscu had enough time to see the attack coming. But instead of avoiding it by dodging to the left or the right, Oscu jumped backwards until his tail touched the wall. He waited half a second for Vonvon to be closer, and with his might speed he dashed to the left, keeping his distance from the enemy. Vonvon probably didn't have enough time to stop, so it would probably hit the wall. Vonvon was stronger, that was clear, but Oscu was faster. One could say they were in almost equal standing, yet Oscu had received some damage from Repede's attack.

The dark wolf charged dark energy into his claws and rushed to Vonvon. Instead of jumping to the main body, Oscu slashed twice at the enemy's feet before retreating with a fast jump. He needed to weaken him, little by little...

On the other side of the dome, Wind thought of himself as fortunate for having charged his spell before. The shadow was coming for him. His jumping ability was average, so with a single jump he wouldn't be able to avoid the attack. That was the problem. And the solution was simple: Wind jumped when the shadow was about to appear below him, and when it started to separate from the ground, he launched his Darkness' Blow (charged spell) at it. Sure, it wouldn't be enough to stop it, but that was not the idea. The spell had hit right after being sent from Wind's Skull Staff. Using that spell was like shooting a big projectile, and like there was no ground below his feet, he received all the recoil. It was not big, but enough to make him avoid the mouth. But just by a hair. Part of his clothes were trapped on it, but fortunately they were cut and didn't drag him in.

Wind landed on his knees, but managed to stand up quickly.

That was close... Well, experiences like these are usually good for future reference... Wind said to himself. Then he looked at Repede. I know your father. And I know you. Poor little Repede, always tortured by the one that was supposed to love him... I wonder if that was what made your personality so... "strange", so to say.

And Wind simply stayed there, in the same place. He was not ready to attack yet. He simply waited for more events to accumulate...

Vonvon did actually ram into the wall but the wall was the worse off as it became covered with cracks and even had pieces of it falling to the ground while Vonvon just shook her head a bit and turned to face the wolf, this did give it enough time to slash her feet which did piss her off even more as she let out a loud screech of rage from it as her claws swung at the wolf and gouged out a good sized part of the ground as the part gouged out flew into the wall and broke apart.

But obviously she missed the wolf and so instead of rushing toward him again her two pincers on her head glowed green as energy gathered up between the pincers, the energy was green in coloration and soon enough the wolf had a beam of energy flying at him and it didn't help that she caused it to drag after him as it was a stream of energy not just a single blast.

When the first one disappeared she fired a second then a third before finally stopping as her body needed to take a break as that was her limit on using it at once at the moment till she grew stronger.....but if she hit the wolf with all, one, or two of the beams was unknown to her.

As that went on Repede let out a yell of outrage at seeing Wind escape his attack with using such a weak spell as he yelled "NO NO NO NO NO! YOU SUPPOSE TO DIE NOT DODGE, STAY STILL YOU COWARD!" Repede then heard the man continue to talk about his father and the crummy deal he was given, this made Repede just get more pissed off as he then charged after Wind himself the boy actually being rather fast and agile for a mage but that was due to his small sized and weight which was a trade off for physical durability.

As he charged after Wind his shadow was right beside him to his right side and when Repede was closer like five feet closer he kept stabbing and slashing at the man with wreak less abandon, this did make things a bit worse for Wind since at such close range there wasn't much time between strikes and the weapon would constantly try to get behind the man to impale his back or go under his guard and try to get at his legs.
