New people, Old places (Open)

Tifa helped herself to more food and watched as the boys stuffed themselves. Satisfied that they had eaten enough, she nodded to the serving woman who brought over a pile of small boxes. Tifa began packing up the leftovers and put them in her back pack for later. She looked up at the boys and said "I paid for it, I'm taking it" When she had packed up everything that she could take, she stood up and slung the bag over her shoulder and declared she was ready to go. She headed out of the door and took a deep breath of the crisp morning air before turning to Fukuro and asking which way it was to the edge

Fukuro's timely arrival and comment on his hair caused Zack to frown comically before placing the towel on his head and drying it vigorously. After a few minutes, Zack sighed and placed the towel over his neck again. "That will have to do." Having eaten his fill, Zack watched as the serving woman delivered some boxes, inside of which Tifa packed the remaining food. "Looks like we're set for lunch and dinner." Zack said with a smile before standing up and quickly slicking back his hair into it's familiar style. A sudden thought caused Zack to bolt up the stairs, returning after a few minutes with his sword slung on his back and fastened securely. With a long stretch, Zack nodded towards Tifa as a gesture to let her know he was ready to go too. "Ready to follow your lead Fukuro." Zack said as he walked passed Tifa and headed outside, waiting for Fukuro to ready himself. Taking in a breath of clean crisp air, Zack felt ready to tackle the day and couldn't wait to see the view from over the edge of the floating continent.

Fukuro chuckled seeing Zack dry his hair again. Fukuro was a little surprised by how much food was left, but he figured it was enough food for at least two more meals like Zack said. Fukuro got up and seeing Zack head back up stairs for his sword Fukuro smirked, happy that he remembered to grab his claws before he came down stairs before. Fukuro headed passed Tifa and Zack and started heading for the edge, which wasn't going to be too far of a walk. "It's not too far from the village. It might as well be a stones throw away." Fukuro said waving his hand at Tifa and Zack letting them know to follow.

Tifa followed Fukuro, playfully tripping Zack as she walked along. She was a little excited about going the trip, she had never seen the edge of a world before. She thought to herself how pretty the village was and she wished she could stay and explore a while longer, but that depended on the other two and what they had planned.

It wasn't long before they were out of the village and into open countryside again. Tifa smiled at how peaceful it was out here, unlike the hustle and bustle of Midgar. It was peaceful even with Zack Fair in her company and that was unusual. Suddenly the peace was shattered by the ear splitting screech of a distressed chocobo. She turned quickly to find the chocobo she had ridden in on running towards her at high speed, obviously terrified and being followed by a Flyer. She grinned at Zack and Fukuro and pulled on her gloves and readied herself to fight. "Now this trip is getting interesting!"

(OOC: I'll be taking care of the Hp and damages for the monsters, so no worries. Just focus on the fight and make sure you place in the bottom how much Mp you have remaining after each of your posts.)

Zack grinned happily as he followed behind Fukuro although his eyebrow raised when he mentioned the short distance to the edge. "The village seems to like playing it close to the chest, I wouldn't want my house near the precipice." Zack said, wondering who, if anyone would dare live right on the edge, especially since Fukuro had mentioned earlier that the continent was slowly breaking apart as time went on. Just as he opened his mouth to ask a question, Zack felt his foot swing back suddenly, Tifa's playfulness in action. Hopping on his other foot, Zack managed to keep himself from falling flat on his face, racing up to meet Tifa and sticking out his tongue in response after he caught his footing.

The three walked in relative silence for a while until the piercing cries of a chocobo alerted them to oncoming danger. "Damn Flyers" Zack muttered as he quickly withdrew his blade and got into a defensive stance next to the others. "You were free for less than 24 hours!" Zack thought as the bird swept passed Tifa before sliding to a halt and cowering behind her, it's wings covering its head like a feathery cape. Zack couldn't help but smile and nudged the cowgirl playfully. "Don't tense up." A playful smile and Zack returned his gaze to the oncoming flyers, two more having flown down from above and heading straight towards the group.

Taking a deep breath, Zack lifted his blade high up into the air as energy began to gather up his arms and around his shoulders. After a few moments the energy transferred down to his hands, glowing a bright blue as Zack forcefully impaled the ground beneath him, sending the stored energy through the blade and into the split in the earth. As the first flyer made its approach, a short rumbling could be felt beneath them as suddenly a large geyser burst from underground, consuming the beast in water and sending it higher up into the air. It's wings drenched, the flyer could only crash into the ground while the others quickly evaded the water pillar in a sharp turn and continued their approach straight towards the terrified chocobo.

Fukuro sighed as he looked had gotten closer to the edge of the continent with Zack and Tifa. He hadn't been back to the edge for a while, it always made him feel oddly sad for whatever reason. Hearing the Chocobo run towards them caused Fukuro to snap out of his daze and turn to see the three flyers coming toward them. Fukuro grabbed his claws and slipped them on. "You have got to be kidding me." Fukuro muttered to himself. Looking at how close the three were to the edge too powerful a hit from one of the flyers might send anyone of the three right off of the floating continent.
Fukuro didn't want to bother using magic in this fight, he rarely did and really only learned it for emergency situations. Fukuro got into an offensive stance instead of a defensive one like Zack. Fukuro Saw Zack's skill hit one of the flyers and Fukuro took advantage of the weakened enemy. Fukuro rushed at the weakened enemy and slashed one of his sets of claws at the Flyer, causing it to fall to the ground, clearly no longer alive. "A good one-two combo should get rid of these guys in no time flat."

Tifa crouched and tensed her legs, ready to attack when the moment was right. She waited for the second flyer to approach and used its momentum to her advantage, launching herself straight at the beast with her fist out in front of her. The pair collided with a sickening crunch, Tifa's fist meeting with its shoulder before she flipped her body over the top of the beast. On her descent, she managed to grasp hold of one of its wings, intending to break it, but when she landed on her feet a short distance behind the flyer, she found the wing still in her hand. It seemed to have popped right off like a leaf in autumn. Tifa looked around the stunned flyer to Fukuro and Zack and waved the wing triumphantly, pointing at it with her other hand and mouthing the word "TROPHY!" in their direction.

Zack watched as the other flyers dodged and made their way towards the chocobo while Fukuro dispatched the previously wounded one with his claws. The flyer fell hard and permanently on the ground, Fukuro's claws having torn gravely into its side. "Nice work, I think it would be best to spread out and prevent the others from harming the chocobo." As Zack said this, he turned to watch Tifa lower to the ground, crouched like a lioness ready to pounce. With a ferocious leap, Tifa's fist crunched and collapsed the approaching flyer's shoulder, causing it to fall limp at its side. Her attack not over, Zack watched as Tifa vaulted over the wounded beast, tearing one of its wings clear off and forcing it into an abnormal flight pattern. "Ouch." Zack thought as he jogged towards Tifa, who at this point waved the treasured winged in triumph. "I would hate to catch you on a bad day cowgirl." As Zack spoke to her, the flyer twitched madly, attempting to control its direction until it focused on the two of them.

A piercing shriek escaped its massive chompers as it stiffened its wings and made for a direct attack on Tifa, however the missing wing caused it to go off course and instead it set its great jaws upon Zack. "Holy Deity!" Zack said, his eyes having just met the approaching beast. Zack pulled his sword around and managed to set it up defensively across his chest a few seconds before contact. With one functioning arm left, the beast pulled upon Zack's sword, attempting in a mad haze of fury to set its teeth upon him and devour whatever portion became available. "A little help here!" Zack yelled as he focused on keeping the beast at bay, its powerful arm yanking at his weapon and causing Zack's grip to quickly tire. All the while the last flyer made its way towards the frightened chocobo who still hid behind its yellow wings, quickly closing the gap between them.

Fukuro smirked lightly at having one vanquished enemy in this fight. He saw Tifa get a souvenir of her own from the fight, and she seemed fairly proud of it. Seeing that the flyer was planning to make a meal of Zach, who appeared to be losing strength trying to keep the flyer at bay. Fukuro also saw the last Flyer head to the frightened Chocobo. Fukuro didn't know which of the two remaining flyers to attack. Fukuro went to his first instinct which was to protect those who can't defend themselves. Fukuro rushed to the Chocobo and slashed the Flyer that had been going to attack it. Fukuro knew he had done some decent damage to it by the large 5-finger claw marks on the Flyers side.

Tifa watched as Fukuro made a dash for the flyer chasing down the chocobo and was satisfied that he had it in hand for the moment. She shifted her attention back to the flier whos wing she had in her hand as it bore down on Zack. She took a quick run up behind it and stomped down hard on its tail, jumping high with her next step. She grabbed onto another wing as a means to pull herself up, this too popped off in her hand. She didn't have time to think as the momentum carried her forward and shed clenched her fist tight around the wing in her palm and punched hard into the back of the beasts neck. The animal finally collapsed in a heap, unfortunately it was a heap on top of Zack. Tifa heaved the flyer off to the side and sat on top of it, exhausted. She motioned towards Fukuro and said "You boys go have fun with that one"

She leaned elbows on her knees and paused to catch her breath. Just then the chocobo ran over to her and began wildly pecking at the downed flyer. She couldn't help but laugh at the angry chirps and frantic movements "Just finishing him off, eh?" She reached over and gave the bird a scratch behind his wing and was rewarded with a friendly nuzzle that knocked her off her perch and onto the floor

As the second Flyer made its assault on Zack, Fukuro seemed to take the opportunity to take on the last remaining beast on his own. Launching into a sprint it seemed Fukuro had managed to catch up to the Flyer that had been in the process of making a rather sharp turn towards the Chocobo. His claws penetrated deep into the Flyer's side, leaving deep painful marks across its side up towards one of its wings which had also been torn up. Unable to complete it's turn the Flyer tumbled on its side, quickly correcting itself in midair however as it now angrily made a somewhat straight flight towards it's attacker.

Meanwhile, Zack could only groan as his right arm tired, the beast's mad pulls causing the muscle in his shoulder and arm to sore. His call for help was heeded by Tifa who had quickly reacted with a sudden stomp on the beast's tail followed up by an airborne assault resulting in another ripped wing and a powerful punch down upon the Flyer's neck. Whatever bone or vertebrae the beast had was likely shattered by her tight fist, a sickeningly crunching sound seemingly supporting this notion. The beast's spirit and body now broken fell straight down, causing Zack to fall back in a slump from the sheer deadweight.

"How do these things stay airborne?" Zack asked as Tifa moved the beast to a side and proceeded to sit upon its midsection and catch her breath. Zack nodded as Tifa left the remaining Flyer to them, with Zack quickly raising his right arm for a spell, however the strain from only a few moments ago had taken it's toll on his strength. "Looks like long range won't be an option." Zack said as he bent down and picked up his sword, holding it aloft with his left arm in preparation for a run. Moments before he left, Zack turned to Tifa only to see the ravenous pecking of the terrified chocobo, followed by the tender moment between it and the cowgirl, resulting in a rather aggressive nuzzle by the poor bird that caused Zack to chuckle. "You two play nice now." Zack said as he ran towards the remaining beast, hoping Fukuro could keep it occupied for a few moments longer or end it outright.

Fukuro kept the Flyer at bay while Zack was running for the Flyer. Fukuro planned on keeping the Chocobo safe, he knew that Tifa could have, and would have, taken care of the Flyer that Zack was having trouble with when Fukuro went off for the Flyer he was keeping at bay now. With it's side torn through the Flyer wasn't putting up that much of a fight anyway. Fukuro wasn't able to get a good shot at the Flyer sense he was only holding it off, not to mention with the Flyer basically missing one of it's wings from Fukuro's earlier claw attack it was flaying oddly, always trying to keep it self from falling. The constant moving of the Flyer from one side to the other made it hard for Fukuro to use his claws effectively.



(OOC: Sorry about not being online for a while. I just finished up with everything that needed to be taken care of so I should be fine to be online)

Tifa seemed to be oblivious to the antics of her male companions as they battled with the last of the attackers. She was somewhat preoccupied by being covered in overexcited chocbo. The bird had proceeded to nudge her over so that she now lay flat on her back, still clutching the flyers wings while the chocobo then sat on her. The only visible part was her feet and her now flapping hands.

She gave up struggling and lay there under the feathery lump and waited for one of the guys to come shove it off of her

The remaining Flyer kept its onslaught upon Fukuro, who managed to keep it at bay while avoiding its rather frantic and haphazard attacks. Seeing as Fukuro could not find an opening, Zack began to focus his energy, leading the pool of magic down along the length of his blade which quickly turned to dripping water. Stopping in his tracks, Zack lifted his blade up with some effort, his arm still tired and sore from his last encounter. Swinging the blade in an arching motion, the gathered water was sent flying from his blade, skidding across the ground in a thin concentrated wave. Zack hoped that the Flyer would have little time to react with its missing wing and its rather desperate struggle with Fukuro.

It seems hope paid off as the wave quickly closed the gap between them and struck the beast on the side of it's open mouth. The wave cut deeply into the beast while water sprayed fiercely across it, leaving a large gaping gash in it's wake. With little life left the Flyer simply crashed on the floor and slumped in defeat, it's single manic wing no longer fluttering. Zack sighed in relief as he replaced his blade on his back and held out a thumbs up in Fukuro's direction. "Well that was tedious, isn't that right cowgir..." Zack said as he turned to face Tifa, only to be met with her outstretched legs, the rest of her body apparently consumed by bright yellow plumage. Staring at the nearby chocobo, Zack couldn't help but chuckle as he took to a jog and began to shove the large bird off of her.

"Glad to see you two made up." Zack said as he groaned, the chocobo slowly standing up and stepping away through his efforts. A few moments later and Tifa was freed, although a number of feathers still adorned her hair and clothing, Zack held back a chuckle. "On the bright side, we did win!" A reassuring smile and Zack turned to face Fukuro, waving his hand to signal for him to join them, they still after all had a sight to see at the edge of the world.
