Refugees, Episode 1 (Scenario)

"Alright team, mission is a go!" Says the voice of a woman, in a serious yet excited tone. The string of a bow is pulled back far, an arrow held tightly between two fingers as a voice picks up through the communicators. "Im going to need an image of the target." The man's breath is slow and steady, as his eyes pick up an orange hue. "Copy that Quartermain, Icarus is preparing takeoff" the sound of gravel underneath shoes can be heard as a young man in a white suit slowly dips a pair of goggles from his forehead unto his eyes. "Icarus is airborne" Says the young man as he begins to run, quickly gaining pace until at a sprint. Taking a deep breath, he jumps into the air, taking off and raising into the air at a quick rate before spreading his arms and gliding over the area. "Hot zone inbound in 30 seconds" Says the young man as the air rushes past him and brushes his hair back. "Roger that Icarus; I need to get a message to Jack"

A man walks around the interior of what looks like a large hall, heading to a desk with a plaque that reads "Jack Anderson, head of security". Air is rushed through vents as there are no windows and is entirely covered in metal. The man lays a file on the desk, his swept back black hair kept in place by a quick run of his hands. "Copy that, these jerks may as well have gone to preschool with me, infiltration is secured." No sound, even the mans lips dident move, yet his eyes stayed focusing around the room, briefly yawning as he gazed up at the ceiling, likely covered by metal as well, as he viewed a specific spot for a few seconds. "Right side, metal alloy is at its thinnest, you should be able to pick up a faint thermal reading, relay image to Quartermain" With that, the man grabs a separate file and walks politely towards a group of guards. "Time to mingle" Says the man as the scene changes once again to the air, as Icarus approaches a large metal dome building, in the midst of a deserted area. Beeps play off the young man's goggles as he dives down closer and sees a faint orange glow. "Screenshot it Quartermain!" Says Icarus, as Quartermain eyes flash completely orange for a second, and his mind focuses on a brief image of the building with the specific point of the dome in main view. "Got it, get everyone else in position" Says the man as his string tightens from the strain placed upon it.

"Bleak, cover the ship, Sentinel drop zone in 1 minute." Says the woman as a large ship appears from the distance, the view shifting to the inside as a large built man moves to its center. "Roger that Wonder girl, ship wont be seen by thermal or night vision for a few minutes, enough time for Eden to shut them down." Says another young man, his blond hair coming into contrast with his apparent red haired twin whom he nudges with his fist. "Ok Bright, ready up" He says as the woman's voice picks up again. "Sentinel, ready telepathic link, communicators will be jammed for the rest of the mission" Says the woman as she takes a deep breath. "Sherwood and Bright, ready for rendezvous with Jack, Parachutes on." This time the woman's lips do not move, as everyone removes the communicators from their ears. The ships back door opens as Icarus glides in, taking in deep breathes as he pats Sentinels shoulder. "Your move big guy" He says before taking a seat along with a blond girl and straps into it. "Alright guys, eclipse in 3...2...1" Says the blond girl as the ship approaches the middle of the dome, all the lights turning off as the entire area goes dark, with the view switching to Quartermain as he takes one more breath and lets go of the string. The arrow spins and rushes past the area as it sticks unto the spot on the dome, causing an audible explosion, denting and heating the metal area while the rest of the dome remains cool.

"Sentinel out!" Says the large man as his entire body becomes solid and covered in a metallic sheen, with a hatch opening under the ship, dropping him unto the spot on the building. A brown haired girl, and the red haired man follow right after, jumping out of the ship. "Sherwood and Bright out!" As they say this and pull their shoots, Sentinel breaks through the weakened spot and into the building, breaking through the wood and metal floors into a room three floors down. The brunette woman Sherwood and the red haired man Bright come in, with an odd silence in the room as Jack's laugh breaks the silence. "Night sight on guys? don't worry, the guys on this floor are on break, or broken, either ways" Bright smirks as Sherwood begins to grow taller, keeping her proportions as she moves out to find an exit. "Sweet spot is 3 floors down, lets get the guns off of him" Says Jack, as Bright nods and takes out a contraption which clamps unto the floor, dropping a long rope to the bottom. Jack does the same and the two fall down quickly to join Sentinel. Gunfire is heard as the large metallic structure of a man stands in a small crater, bullets causing seemingly no damage, while the man stands immobile. "Safe is located, 9 guards, take them out" He says as a large flash blinds the men, followed by Bright and Jack who land with a small thud on the ground.

The scene changes as the ship lands adjacent to the building, amongst some gunfire as Bleak exits, joined by Sherwood who exits the building, now twice her size as her fist sends a guard rushing past into a tree. "Any problems?" Bleak asks as he dodges a guard's thrust with his gun and grabs him, tossing him a few feet away. "No, Jack took care of the entire floor, Bright and him are down helping Sentinel I presume" Says Sherwood as she grabs two guards and smashes them together, as they fall down and collapse. The scene now switches to Bright's fist as it comes into contact with a guards jaw, followed by Jack who hides behind sentinel before taking out a stick which extends into a baton, rushing past the gunfire as he knocks a guard in the back of the neck. The last of the guards is dispatched by Bright as the two walk towards Sentinel and take a few breaths. "Coast is clear ironman" Jack says as Sentinel's body returns to normal, the man stretching a bit as a few of his bones crack. "Right, vault door is over here" He says as he dusts his pants off and leads the other two to a round metallic door.

"Ok, clear the way" Bright says as he takes off his gloves and puts them in his pockets before rubbing his hands together briefly and aiming them at the door. His hands begin to glow bright orange as slowly a dim ray of light hits the door, growing smaller, until a thin ray begins to heat and break apart the metal. "Just a minute guys, someone make sure Quartermain is ok" Bright says as the scene changes to Quatermain, laying down, looking up against the sky. "I'll be fine, blind for a few minutes though, I'll need some help getting out when your done." He says, followed by a long and exhausted sigh. "Almost..." Bright says as he cuts a round entry into the metal, as the cutaway part falls inside with a resounding clang, showing that the door was several inches thick. Bright falls unto one knee as he takes a large breath, wiping sweat off his forehead. "Bright you ok?" Says Bleak as he turns and cracks the jaw of a nearby guard with his elbow. "Yeah, fine just a little drained." Bright says as he stands back up and joins Jack and Sentinel behind him. "Extract the target and join back with the others for takeoff" Says the woman, as Sentinel, Jack and Bright approach the door. "Roger that" Says Jack as the three enter the vault, and begin to look around the room, finding many metal file cabinets with number pads on the side of each. "Got the secretary to divulge the location of the vault codes, convinced her I was her brother in law" Says Jack as he begins to fiddle around with the pad, his fingers running through the memorized numbers. "Seriously the codes where kept in a usb drive in a safe, my grandmother has better security than that" He says, his lips never moving, his concentration never broken. "Do you even have a grandmother? Im beginning to think you were lab grown Jack" Says Sentinel, as Bright chuckles silently. "Can't divulge too much information, you know the protocol" Says Jack as a ping signals the right combination had been entered. "Surprised Eden's pulse dident make it down here" Bright said as he knocked on the metal vault door behind him. "Yeah, still haven't gotten full control of it yet, I stopped myself before hitting comatose." Says Eden, as back in the ship she lays her head against Icarus' shoulder, her hand on her head as she encounters a migraine. "Good thing though, otherwise I would have locked the cabinets permanently, Bright would have fried the insides" She says as Jack takes a file out and replaces it with another. "There, the information on this file should seem legit enough." Jack says, flicking pass the pages of the file he took. "Should take them a few weeks to find out what was actually stolen." He said as he waved the file and smirked slightly. "Right then, lets join the others" Sentinel said, Bright nodding as the three rushed back to the ship.

A few minutes later...

The last guard in the area was taken out by Sherwood, the guard dropping unto the ground, covered by flesh like vines. "We need to get out of here, sounds like an army of these guys are headed our way." Said Sherwood as she began to shorten down to her normal size. "Come on Bright, where the hell are you" Bleak says as the other three burst through a door and run towards the ship, while its engines start up. "On your way for coffee did you get the file?" Icarus said as Jack stumbles in, tossing the file at him. "Yeah I got it, smart ass." Jack said as Eden and Icarus chuckled, followed by Sentinel who pushed Jack to his seat. "Lets go, were out of time" Says Sentinel as the others join him, entering the ship as it begins to take off. "Ok, on our way to you Quartermain" Says the woman as faint images begin to come back to him, cracking a smile as he sees the stars above the night sky. "Mission Accomplished, you are all buying me a round" He says, rubbing his eyes as he then lays them flat, dropping his bow next to him as the sound of the ship's engines approach.

Refugees, Episode 2 (Prometheus)

A woman stands up and walks towards a window as sounds of a ship's engines slowly approaches her location. Looking out, she sees a ship land amongst the trees in what seems like a forest, as the ships doors open, letting out a ramp. The group step out, Icarus carrying the file that had just been stolen while Sentinel and Sherwood help Quartermain walk. The group enter, ascending up two cases of stairs and into a small room, its walls decorated with maps and pictures of individuals connected by strings. Icarus being the first to enter smiled brightly, waving the file above his head while blocking the entrance. "We got it Kate, everything went off without a hitch" He said as the woman turned to face the group and smiled politely. "We aren't to use our real names Icarus, remember?" Said the woman identified as Kate, as Jack pushed Icarus out of the way and grabbed the file. "Moron..." Jack said as he heads towards a small table in the middle of the room, followed by the others, Quatermain taking a seat, it seemed his vision had yet to return completely. Tossing the file on the table, Jack lays his hands down upon its edge and sighs. "Kate, wait sorry..." Jack says, attempting to remember the name she had chosen to go under. "Wonder, you were right." He said, turning around as he began to walk towards the wall behind him, covered with photos of buildings, and various names, each connected to another by a red string. "The file contained some useless information about pesticides but gave a name of a company named Petrichor that was apparently developing some plant growth hormone, a variant no doubt of the hormone that was implanted into Sherwood" Jack said, Sherwood crossing her arms as she moved to the middle of the table and sat on its edge, watching along with the others as Jack spoke. "However when we ran its name, it turns out that the company hadent been in business since 1965, when it was acquired by an unknown source, just when they had completed research into this very hormone" Jack said, as he turned to face the others and pointed to the wall with his right hand. "Similarly, these companies, the Daedalus Foundation, Orion, Kessler Corp, they were all bought out around the time of some significant breakthrough, all by an unknown source."

At the mention of these names, some of the members frowned or looked down at the floor, memories jogged by their mere mention. "The trail becomes cold with this company as well I imagine, the unknown source remaining unknown." Wonder said as she picked up the file and flicked through its pages. "However, we searched for investment growth for all major companies within the past few decades and one company had been investing like wildfire, and its expansion had seen an abnormal growth as well" Eden mentioned, rubbing her temples as the migraine began to secede. "Thats right, and that company we suspect is the one buying all of these other ones, serving as an umbrella corporation for all of them" Jack said, pointing to the middle of the wall, at a name written out on a piece of paper. "Prometheus" Wonder said, as Jack nodded and returned to the table, taking a seat and messing his black hair with his hand. "Great, so the governments involved" Quartermain said, tapping on the table with his fingers as he sighed in frustration. "Prometheus is a company in the military's weapons division, they fund half of our operations." Bleak said, speaking up from the other side of the table as he and Bright sat down. "Why would they help us on these missions, missions that just trace our leads on who did this to us straight back to them?" He said, crossing his arms as he looked towards Wonder. "Testing probably" Sentinel said, stretching his shoulder, it seemed his body was still rather stiff from the mission. "Which is why ive been sending them false Intel on our missions, I had my suspicions" Wonder said, sitting down with her team as she put the file down and looked at the others, a worried expression on her face.

"They don't know everything we've found out, and Eden's been keeping track of their monitoring since the formation of this team" She said, tapping the file with a finger before laying her hand flat upon it and pushing it towards the middle of the table. "We need to go under the radar, even this base is now compromised. In a few weeks they'll figure out what was taken and they'll know we are on to them." Wonder said, looking around the room, at the worried faces of her team. Turning away, she crossed her arms and began to speak again. "Eden, is the space we prepared ready for us? Worst case scenario is on and we need to move out." Wonder said, walking to her desk as she bent over and began to search for something. "Defense systems aren't prepared, and since our budgets going to be cut drastically because of this, seems were going to have to finish the rest ourselves. However, the basic designs are ready, rooms, furnishing and all" Eden said, taking out a phone as she searched through it. Wonder smiled, still searching for something as her hands came upon a cold metal object, picking it up it was revealed to be a small metal box. "Thats fine, as long as it can house us its good for now" Gripping the box with both hands Wonder hesitated to take a step but turned to face the others, bringing the box to the table. "Whats that?" Asked Jack, cautiously looking at the metal box. Wonder wasent known to keep many secrets from the team unless they were important, anything that required her to hide something from them was treated seriously and with great caution. "I'll tell you all when we get to the new base, right now we need to collect our things and go." Wonder said, leaving the box on the table as she left to gather her own things.

A few hours later...

The sound of the ship's engine begins to roar back to life as the team exits the base. Closing the metal doors, the team carry their bags and begin to store them away in the ship's compartments. "So we're really going?" Icarus asked, taking a look back at the base as Sentinel took his bag. "No need to look back now, we can't afford to" Bright said, closing the compartment adjacent to Icarus as he patted his shoulder and climbed aboard the ship. "I guess not..." Icarus said, sighing deeply before turning and boarding the ship himself. The last to exit was Wonder, having made sure to burn all evidence of the teams investigations, she walked out with trace amounts of ash covering her feet. Boarding the ship, she smiled at her teammates, attempting if she could to instill some sense of hope in what was currently a rather hopeless situation. Once everybody boarded the ship, Eden set the coordinates and the ship was on its way, Bleak cloaking the ship in case they were being observed.

Morning...

The ride was long and Bleaks cloak was running thin as the sun began to rise. Arriving off the coast of new york city, the ship took a dive into the water, Bleak providing enough cover to keep the ship from being sited as it entered. Guided by Eden, the ship continued into the Hudson river, covered from site due to its murky waters and headed towards a large tunnel. Zooming through the tunnel, a large metal hatch opened up, allowing entry for the ship and closing as it passed to keep the water out. Several more minutes of traveling and lights began to turn on from both sides of the tunnel, lighting a passage forward. "We're here" Eden said as the ship began to slow, another large metal hatch opening up as the ship came to a hover and slowly entered a large room, itself slowly lit by many lights. Slowly coming down, the ship landed on a metal platform on the ground, shutting down the second it made contact. The team made their way out and began to explore the large area. "This is the main hanger, it houses the vehicles we use, granted the ship is basically the only air travel we have currently..." Eden said as Wonder walked over to a pad on the far left wall and placed her hand upon it. "Recognized" A text appeared on top of the panel as doors began to slide open from each side, leading to different rooms.

"Go ahead and make yourselves at home, rooms should be on the door to your right" Wonder said, as the team grabbed their things and slowly made their way right, passing through a long hall with multiple rooms, more so then the amount of people in the team. "Odd..." Thought Jack as he picked the second room to his right and began to put away his things, enjoying the simple yet useful layout of the furniture. "We get our own bathrooms!" Yelled Icarus, as Jack sighed, it seemed Icarus was his neighbor. Opposite him, Sentinel chose his room, second door to the left and calmly unpacked his belongings. Sherwood took the room next to him, with Eden settling for the third room to the right. Bright and Bleak walked into the same room and noticed a bunk bed, at which the two of them looked at each other, clearly annoyed by Wonder's gesture. Walking off, the two decided to take opposite rooms and settled in. Quatermain walked towards the back and took a room next to bleak, closing the door as he made himself comfortable. Finally, walking alone to her room, taking the first door to her left, Wonder slowly unpacked her bag and sat down on her bed, covered with orange sheets. Taking the box out of her bag, she held it tightly in both hands, before taking a long exhausted sigh.

Refugees, Episode 2.5 (Brief)

Hours later...

As the team made themselves comfortable in their new base, Icarus began gliding around, taking in the sights, it seemed the base was pretty large. Sentinel had taken up to exploring the base along with Jack, figuring out the layout. Sherwood stayed in her room, watching the news on a t.v. hanged on a wall in front of her bed. Eden walked around the base, checking on the status of each area, and figuring out what was still needed. Quatermain stayed in a training room he had found, left of the hanger and was focusing on target practice. Bright and Bleak simply walked off to the kitchen and proceeded to make themselves a snack. Although active, the team seemed on edge, disillusioned and even worried now that their fears had become a reality. They each remained silent, except for a mutter or two every now and again, the tension in the base was high. "Team report to the briefing room, first door to the front, past the main hanger" Said Wonder's voice, piercing through the tension as the collective group stopped what they were doing and proceeded immediately to the room, each of them eager to find out what their course of action was going to be. Entering the dimly lit room, each member took a seat on the large central table as Wonder walked towards the front of the room, holding the box she had taken with her. "Im sure you are all wondering what it is we are going to be doing from now on..." She said, her voice low, but enough for the group to listen. "I know its on your minds, and its best I clear the air" Wonder said, looking directly at Jack, his eyes focused intently on the box. "We are going to begin launching a direct investigation of Prometheus, its plans, its history, and their connection to us..." She hesitated before uttering the next words. "...and if need be, confront and neutralize them completely" At this Sentinel raised an eyebrow, with the rest of the team members expressing a similar reaction. "Your talking about war, with the military, the people who found us and trained us" Quatermain said, his tone a tad dark, but appropriate for the situation. "We can't just take them down ourselves, its us against potentially the entire army, not to mention every law enforcement agency under the damn sun" Icarus said, standing up as he looked around the room, looking for an approving nod from his teammates. "Its not like we have a choice, either we fight back now, or we wait until they find us and fight later." Sherwood said, tying her hair back into a ponytail as Quatermain gave a slight grunt, laying back in his seat.

"We have the element of surprise, but Icarus is right, we have no where near the number of people needed to carry out an attack on Prometheus." Jack said, calm in his tone, but his eyes still focused. "That is where this comes in..." Wonder said, placing the small metal box on the table, placing her hand in her pocket, fidgeting around until she grabbed and produced a key, fitting it into the lock and opening the box. Reaching inside she took out a small usb stick and showed it to the group. "This usb contains a program, a program ive designed in part with Eden and various other affiliates ive known over the years." Placing the usb in a port next to a hanging monitor in the very front of the room, the screen lit up with a map, showing multiple red dots, with a text reading "Possible matches" running across the top and bottom of the screen. "Team, this is the Galileo System" Wonder said, Jack paying considerable attention to the red dots on the screen. "This system tracks potential recruits for our team, in order to help us expand and assist us in our goals. Each dot is an individual with abilities like us, and histories suggesting potential cooperation" Wonder said, pointing to one dot in particular, in the heartland of the United States. "Ive already contacted the first recruit, and he should arrive here in a few weeks" Wonder said, looking around the room, as the team looked to each other, seeing who would speak first. "These recruits, have they any solid connections to Prometheus?" Jack asked, standing up as he moved closer to the screen. "No, they have all severed their ties and several of them are in hiding" Wonder said, before pressing a button on the screen as it changed to the view of New York City.

"As for our second briefing..." Wonder said, looking to Jack as he sighed and nodded, giving Wonder a not too convincing smile before sitting down in his seat. "Eden, would you mind explaining?" She asked, as Eden stood up and proceeded to take the stage, Wonder taking the nearest seat available. "So, as you may have already noticed, we are in an underground base directly below New York City." Eden said, pressing another button as it displayed a city map with dots spread about it. "Each of these dots represents an entryway to the base, which we have dubbed "The Keep" due to Icarus' insistence. Entryways are available and spread about all around the city, in order to offer us easy access to the Keep and the city as we see fit" Eden said, looking around the room as Sherwood raised her hand. "What about power, how is this base even running, can't we easily be detected by our power supply?" She asked, Jack nodding as the team looked towards Eden for an answer. "Thankfully no, the base is powered in part by hydroelectric turbines and geothermal power, with some siphoning from various other sources. We can't be tracked so easily, you can all rest assured" Eden said with a smile, pressing a button as it showed a percentage of the Keep's completion status. "As it stands now, the Keep is only sixty percent operational, with the defense systems and combat simulation systems still offline, so for the moment the Keep is nothing more than a home for us to come back to and regroup." Eden mentioned, showing another bar for funding and money flow. "As for our funding, we will be expecting a drop in funding by about fifty to seventy percent, but we've been able to supplement it with funding from various friendly sources, so we should be running at at least fifty percent budget wise." She said, as Quatermain sighed and rubbed his face with his hand. "More money will be gained as we attempt to establish safe and effective connections within the city and abroad, but for the moment we are in a pretty vulnerable position, so preparation is key."

Finally, Eden motioned for Wonder to stand as she moved on to the last screen, which had information concerning a particular building. "Our first mission..." Wonder said, as she moved to the front of the room, standing on the opposite side of the screen. "...is to infiltrate and retrieve any and all information pertaining to Prometheus in a highrise apartment in the middle of city. Additionally we will need information pertaining to an area known as the "Black Forest" in which a military installation is said to be hidden." She said, the team focusing on their briefing as Wonder continued her explanation. "This operation should be simple, Jack will be carrying out the heist, we'll need Sentinel and Quatermain as backup, the rest will stay close as part of a fall back plan." Wonder said, giving the team a moment to process everything before continuing on. "Right, so here are the details..."

Hurry up....... I hate suspense!

Refugees, Episode 3 "Whisper"

"Alright, Jack is in position" Wonder said, her lips hadn't moved, implying that Sentinel had set up a telepathic link. "Quartermain, do you have a clear view?" She asked, as Quatermain looked through a the view of a sniper rifle, the rifle itself unusually thin, which implied that the rifle didn't shoot bullets. "Ready, I can see Jack." He said, carefully aiming the rifle as the air ruffled his hair, the winds seemed to pick up from atop of a skyscraper overlooking the city. Taking slow breaths, Quartermain readied his finger on the trigger. "Just be my eyes on the other rooms" He said, as he slowly focused on his target. "Roger that, Sentinel's in position as well." Taking a short pause, Wonder shook off her anxiety and commenced the mission. "Mission is a go" With that, Jack walked towards an elevator, with a guard at each side. "Morning boys" Jack said, giving them a smirk as the men nodded their heads. "Morning Mr. Kale, hows the internship treating you?" Said one, as he tipped his hat. The ding of the elevator followed after, as Jack walked in and turned to face the men and pressed a button to the 50th floor. "Very exciting" Jack said, his smirk never leaving his face as the elevator doors closed. "Right, Quatermain keep an eye on the first floor, Sentinel how are you holding up?" Wonder asked as Sentinel stood in place, already in his metallic form as he adorned the rooftop of the building, opposite of another statue near the rooftop door. "Very cramped, this is going to kill me later" He said, as the view switched to Jack, slowly making his way up to the 50th floor, a slight bit of annoyance on his face as he waited patiently, the sound of elevator music playing a tad louder than expected in the background.

Fixing his name tag, with the name Jack Kale, Jack sighed in relief as the elevator doors opened, walking out calmly as he made his way down through a long corridor on his right. "Approaching the vice chairman's office now" Jack said, as he pulled out a touch pad and began to lightly tap it, opening up a calender. Straight ahead was a guard standing in front of the door, it seemed the vice chairman was out. "Mr. Kale how are you doing?" The guard said, as Jack smiled and raised the touch pad and waved it lightly as he approached. "Fine, Just here to talk to the V.C. about his schedule for next week." Jack said as he approached the guard. "Im sorry but im afraid hes on his lunch break right now Jack" Said the guard as Jack stopped in front of him and sighed. "Ofcourse..." Jack said as he began to turn away and raised his right arm, hitting the guard squarely under his chin, followed by a punch to the side of the head as he spun and connected with his left elbow. "...4pm on the spot" Jack said, taking the guard's security card and swiping it passed a slot on the door. "Im in, tell Eden to get ready for upload" Jack said as he rushed into the office and took out usb from his pocket, connecting it to a computer on top of the Vice Chairman's desk. "Clarifying that the upload is working" Jack said, shaking the mouse as the screensaver of two kittens vanished from the screen and showed a percentage bar, quickly filling up as information was sent. "Good here, Eden what about you?" Jack said as he heard the sound of flushing from outside the door.

"Oh no..." Jack said, quickly taking the usb out as the upload finished. "Wonder are you sure that all of the guards are accounted for?" He said as Wonder quickly flicked through printed pages with markings next to names. "Yes, there shouldent be anyone other than one guard on your floor and a few others on separate floors including the first." As she said this, Jack rushed out and was immediately caught face to face with a man dressed in a guards uniform, fixing his belt on as he closed the bathroom door located down a short hall to Jack's right. "Crap, Rigsby, I forgot he got promoted from janitor" Jack said as he waved awkwardly and started to run, Rigsby following after as he caught sight of the downed guard and quickly picked up his radio. Pressing the buttons on the elevator Jack saw the number move slowly from the 19th floor. Hitting the doors with his fist, he began to run to the stairs, climbing up the long spiral cases. "Plan B, I need to escape via rooftop, do doubt the guards have been informed." Jack said as Quatermain shot two darts which traveled down and through the glass exterior of the building and connected on the necks of the two guards on the first floor. "Yeah, their picking up their radios, get a move on Jack" Quatermain said as he raised the rifle and began to shoot up, aiming at the guards whom all began to gather at the elevator on their respective floors. "I should be fine, just Rigsby hopefully and another guard on the 51st floor." Jack said, ducking suddenly as said guard came bursting through the door, attempting to swing at him with his nightstick. Grabbing the guard's arm, Jack shoved him towards Rigsby and went up the last two cases to the rooftop. Pushing the roof door open, Jack winked at Sentinel, stationed at his right as Jack passed him and turned right, heading to the edge of the building, with another building adjacent, albeit a bit lower.

The doors swung open again as Rigsby passed Sentinel and followed after Jack, too fast for Sentinel to react, while the other guard found himself caught by his hands, no longer metallic. "Sorry about this" Sentinel said as he took the guards arms with his hand and held it behind his back, while the other pulled him closer and covered his mouth. Sentinel once again became metal, standing still as a statue with the guard squirming, uselessly trying to escape. "Ok, I should be able to outrun him" Jack said, looking behind him as Rigsby slowly gained distance, the two heading towards the edge of the building. Taking a giant leap, Jack jumped off, the sounds of traffic under him as he landed and rolled on the top of the adjacent building and took a deep breath, looking behind him as he continued running. Rigsby followed the leap and landed on the rooftop, still in pursuit, as Jack looked on, astounded. "Ok, I may need some help, apparently im being chased by Spiderman" Jack said as he made another leap towards a lower building, taking larger breathes as his stamina began to wear out. "Bleak and Bright are too far away, Sherwoods a couple of blocks and I cant send Icarus out, he cant fly with such a heavy crowd watching." Wonder said as she looked through each of their eyes. "Your going to have to try and make it out alone Jack, im sorry." She said as Jack groaned and continued to run, before stopping abruptly, noticing that the block ended, the next building was too far away to reach. Turning he saw Rigsby slow down and pull out a taser gun. "Freeze Kale, im taking you in for questioning." He said, taking in large breathes as well, as Jack looked behind him, nothing but a plummet to the sidewalk below. "Crap" Jack said, taking out his collapsible baton as he prepared to engage the guard.

Suddenly, the door to the rooftop flung open as a figure walked towards the two. Loosely waved brown hair, with distinct green eyes, a woman, around her mid twenties stopped a couple of feet from Rigsby, as the guard now aimed his taser at her. "Are you working with him? hands up or I will send bolts down your spine woman." Rigsby said as the woman raised her hands slowly, her features showing her to be average looking, indistinguishable from the city populace, apart from those bright green eyes. "Your holding the taser the wrong way" She thought, as the guard slowly looked down and turned the taser to face him before looking back at her. "Im serious, don't make a move" Rigsby said as Jack looked at him and then at the woman, dumbfounded as the woman gave him a wink. "Right then" Jack said, shaking his head as he rushed towards the guard. Turning to face Jack, Rigsby shot the taser, stunning himself in the process as he fell down, knocked out by the shock. Looking down, Jack's eyebrows narrowed slightly as he turned to face the woman. "How did you do that? You forced him to shoot himself?" Jack asked, as the woman smiled and put her arms down, then extending her right hand towards him. "Shake her hand" She thought as Jack moved closer and moved his hand to shake with hers. "Why am I shaking with you, I don't even know you" Jack said as Wonder remained quiet, viewing the scene from his eyes. "Its my power, I can influence people's behaviors through thought, kind of like whisper messages into their minds" She said, shaking Jack's hand in return as Wonder watched, both her and Jack wondering who she was or why she decided to help. "So you cause them to react as if they themselves had thought it...interesting" Jack said, letting the woman go as he proceeded to make his way to the roof door. "Aren't you going to invite me to join your team? I got one of your friends to tell me everything" Said the woman, causing Jack to turn quickly and face her, holding the roof door open. "Shortish one, Icarus I think, he kept staring at a building and talking to himself" She said, moving her hand to show Icarus' height. "What exactly do you know" Jack said as he heard the alarm of the building he exited go off, causing him to glance at it quickly. "The team, the mission, the fact that your having a telepathic conversation, and I want to help." Said the woman as she approached Jack and took his hand, leading him downstairs. As the two made their way out, Wonder began searching her database for information on this woman. "What do you think?" Jack thought, as Wonder continued to search. "She seems to know enough and I asked Icarus, he remembers telling her what she said she knew...bring her in" Wonder said, as her fingers stopped typing, having found something important. "Copy" Jack said, as he took her hand and quickly lead her away.

Hours later...

"What I couldn't help it..." Icarus said as the team grouped up in the meeting room, Bleak smacking him upside the head. Eden finished waving a sort of wand past and around the woman. "Shes clean, same readings as the ship, no tracking devices or anything." Eden said as the woman sat down and looked at the group, smiling softly. "Jesus my bones are creaking" Sentinel suddenly said as he walked into the room, joining the others as he moved his shoulder around. "How did it go?" Wonder asked as Sentinel raised his hand and formed an O with his fingers. "Fine, just needed to wait until things died down, made my way out pretty easily" He said, looking at Jack as Jack scratched the back of his head. "Right then, so you..." Wonder said, catching the attention of the team as she approached the woman and sat next to her. "Twenty-five, five foot six, green eyes and brown hair..." Wonder said before putting on a smile and laying her hand on the woman's shoulder. "Your on my database, you went off the radar though, figured you'd been killed or something" Wonder said, as the woman shook her head softly. "No, after I realized that I was being followed I dropped out of sight, ive been training and gathering information, ive already told Eden and I want to join your team" Said the woman as Icarus walked up, hands raised. "Wait so she just barges in, pulls a jedi mind trick on me and now were just going to let her join the team?" He said, his anger fueled mostly by embarrassment rather than any genuine distrust. "She's on Wonder's database, it means shes safe, just unexpected..." Jack said as he sat down opposite of Wonder and laid back, taking off his sunglasses and tucking them into his pocket.

"Right then, your more than welcome to join, we've got a mission we could definitely use your help with." Wonder said as she smiled and stood up, taking the woman's hand as she stood up along with her. "Fine, but if she's joining she'll need a new name..." Icarus said as he folded his arms and looked away from the group, still embarrassed. "Call me...Whisper" Said the woman as she walked to Icarus and tapped his shoulder. "Fine...Whisper it is" He said, turning and sighing softly. "Welcome to the Refugees" Icarus said as the team turned and faced him, wondering what he was referring to. "The team...idk, seems to fit doesn't it?" He said as Bleak put a hand on his face and shook it side to side. "Best not to argue with it, he tends to quiet down if you follow along" Quatermain said, taking a seat at the very end of the table. "I just hope your not as loud as the rest of these kids, I hardly sleep as it is" He said, his hat down and feet upon the table as he attempted to relax in his chair. Moving up to her, Sherwood laid her hand on Whisper's shoulder, pointing outside. "Lets go find you a room" She said, smiling as the two walked out, Jack looking at Wonder as she tapped on a tablet she held unto. Wonder looked up, connecting eyes briefly with him before Jack looked down and got up, walking out as he put his glasses back on. "I know..." Wonder said as she stood and continued to tap away at her tablet, the rest of the team following Whisper to her new room.

"Bright!" Yelled Bleak amongst the sound of gunfire, the entire area dark, even the bright flashes of the bullets being shot from the distance were consumed by the darkness. "Bleak, no we need to retreat!" Sentinel said as he grabbed him, carrying him off as Bleak struggled. "BRIGHT!" The yells continued for a few minutes before Bleak's voice faded out to the distance. "Wonder, Bright's been captured..." Jack said, looking down, his voice gravely and laced with a serious tone. Turning to slowly face the others, he saw it in their faces, the team's morale, their spirit was completely broken. "The forest...its filled with soldiers..." Jack said turning to face a large dark orb, completely black, with no visible light shining through or from it. "...soldiers with Bleak's powers..." He said as everything went silent.
