| TournamentsTournaments are open for regular sparring matches and as official single and multi-round events. All rules governing tournament sign ups, penalties, team selection, etc... will be listed below for all to follow. Afterwards, a list of the current tournament types and their match conditions will follow. Tournament Rules:1. Members can set up their own sparring matches with other members simply by starting a topic and agreeing on the type of match they wish to undertake. No need for administrative intervention. 2. Members can sign up for official tournament matches by posting in a tournament announcement thread when a new tournament is being held. There will be announcements prior to the event and sufficient time to signup, however there will be no late entries after this period. 3. In Official tournament matches, mods and/or admins will randomly assign members to their opponents in 1v1 matches. 4. Members will either be randomly selected into teams for official matches or be given a chance to sign up to either team. (Decisions may alternate) 5. There are penalties for those who refrain from posting in an official tournament thread without prior notice. Members who have not posted after a 48 hour period will be disqualified and will not receive any points for their involvement in the thread so far and will not receive rewards if their team wins. 6. Rp and Site rules (unless otherwise stated) must be followed as normal. 7. All character creations must be approved before the start of a sparring or tournament match. No creations approved after the start of a match may be used. 8. Members must abide by the format of the match they have either agreed to in unofficial sparring matches or been given in official tournament threads. Penalties will be one warning before disqualification as well as not receiving points for their involvement in the thread or rewards if their team were to win. 9. Although extra prizes may be awarded, winners of an official tournament gain the total amount of points from the entire tournament match, while losers only retain the points they themselves have accumulated. 10. No points are awarded for incomplete official tournament matches. Match Types:1V1 Matches (Official) (Single round or best of three)- Match Conditions:
1. All member's Mp's are balanced.
2. Class and Race abilities are negated.
3. Blocking takes half damage.
4. 10mp regeneration every battle turn* (Cannot go over max mp)
5. Dodges are limited to two times per battle turn.*
6. Rounds last fifteen battle turns*.
7. All member's Hp's are balanced.
(*Battle turn means after both player posts once, not every single individual's post.)
1v1 Sparring Matches (Unofficial) (Single round or best of three)- Match Conditions:
1. All member's Mp's are untouched.
2. Class and Race abilities are unlocked.
3. Blocking takes half damage.
4. No mp regeneration.
5. Dodges limited to two per battle turn.*
6. Rounds last fifteen battle turns*.
7. All member's Hp's are balanced.
(*Battle turn means after both player posts once, not every single individual's post.)
Team Matches 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 Matches (Single round or best of three)- Match Conditions:
1. Match conditions for official matches are the same as for official single matches.
2. Match conditions for unofficial matches are the same as for unofficial single matches.
Life Matches 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 matches (Single round)- Match Conditions:
1. A character's mp stands in for their hp as well, when characters use up mp, they lose the same amount in hp. (1v1 matches)
2. Separate mp of team members are accumulated to represent the total mp of the team, which also represents the team's total hp. Any reduction in mp affects all members of that party. (2v2, 3v3, 4v4 matches)
3. Characters are limited to three actions per turn at full mp, two actions per turn when mp dips below half, and one action per turn when mp dips below a quarter. (Actions include attacking, dodging and blocking)
4. Blocking takes half damage.
5. Since mp stands in for health, damage done to a player also reduces mp.
6. When mp is reduced to zero, the player/s are defeated.
7. Played in a single round which in this case is equivalent to 30 battle turns*
8. If members are disqualified, teammates keep the total amount of mp for the duration of the match. (2v2, 3v3, 4v4 matches)
9. Balancing of mp for participating members is up to administrative discretion on a tournament by tournament basis.
(*Battle turn means after both player posts once, not every single individual's post.)
Share Matches 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 matches (Single Round)- Match Conditions:
1. All character creations of users within a team is shared between other team members for the duration of a match without restriction.
2. Class and Race abilities are negated.
3. Members are allowed to give portions of their own mp to other teammates. However to do so members may not attack in the same battle turn.*
4. All members are limited to two dodges per battle turn.*
5. Blocking takes half damage.
6. Played in a single round which in this case is equivalent to 30 battle turns.*
7. If members are disqualified, teammates still have access to that member's arsenal of creations for the duration of the match.
8. Balancing of hp/mp for participating members is up to administrative discretion on a tournament by tournament basis.
(*Battle turn means after both player posts once, not every single individual's post.)
Materia Matches, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 (Single round or best of three)- Match Conditions:
1. Members lose direct access to their creations other than armor and weapons. In its stead they gain three materia of any element of their choosing.
2. Having chosen their materia, members are then allowed to use their creations as well as have access to all of the spells/enchantments noted on the site (As long as they are of the same element as one of the three materia)
3. Before utilizing a creation such as a spell, members must first pay a charge cost which activates one of their materia and allows them to then utilize a creation of the appropriate tier.
4. Activation costs are as follows: a. 10mp= to charge one materia to tier one b. 30mp= to charge one materia to tier two c. 60mp= to charge one materia to tier three
5. After a materia has been charged, members must still pay the creation's mp cost as normal. Conservation and planning is key as powerful creations will drain a member's mp quickly. After a creation is used the materia must then be recharged.
6. Blocking takes half damage.
7. Class and Race abilities are negated.
8. Members may charge each of their materias once per battle turn.*
9. Dodges are limited to two times per battle turn.
10. Rounds last fifteen battle turns*.
11. Balancing of hp/mp for participating members is up to administrative discretion on a tournament by tournament basis.
