Meeting a New Friend ... (Open)

(Been a while since I rpd so bear wit me >.<)

Tora was in the middle of a ruin, a place that was once a village, but now was a mere memoery of what was there. Tora had heard that a man still lived here but hidden, he was a man named Bernhardt Rhodes. Tora did not know the actual location the man lived but this was his best chance for information. Tora hoped that playing some music would get the man's attention, since he was told the man loved music.

The lyrics from his voice carried throughout the barren landscape, sure enough not too soon after he finished he heard a noise, from behind him but it was merely a small squirrel. He was white with little black bolts on his cheeks. Tora thought it looked quite cute and beckoned it toward him. The little creature carefully walked over and sniffed his hand and then jumped at him gleefully, bouncing up and down on his head. Tora couldn't keep from laughing at the little guys enthusiasm.
"A fine tune, it seems you are here for a good reason."
Tora looked up and there he saw a man probably now older than he was, dark tan skin and spiked white hair. He wore some peculiar clothes not much different from what Tora was wearing just he had plenty of gadgets and weapons on him, and probably more than what Tora saw. The small squirrel sqeaked cheerfully and jumped off of Tora and ran towards the man.
"You came looking for someone?"
How did the man know that, had he been watching him for a while or did he just guess? Tora placed his hand on his blade and took a stance ready to defend himself. The man just stood there and laughed at him.
"Don't you have any manners, I asked you a question young man."
"Isn't it always a good idea to introduce ones self before that?"
"But you already have a pretty good idea about who I am boy."
"Don't call me boy, you look no older than me."
"Looks can be decieving, I am indeed young looking, but I am beyond your years."
"Then the rumors of Bernhardt Rhodes are true?"
"Depends what they say, and who says them, come I know why you are here. I can help you find Koneko."
This man knew exactly why Tora had come, well this was a bit of a turn of events. Bern had come to get him instead of Tora having to find him? Tora quietly followed Bern into one of the older looking buildings and they stood in the darkness, Bern built a fire and sat down becking Tora to do the same.
"The one you seek, Koneko is indeed healthy and alive. However she is not the same woman that you knew during your time in Vana'Diel."
'How did this guy know all of this information, could he read minds or something?'
Tora thought to himself on all the kinds of scenarios which this guy could have known all this but it all made his head pound.
"What do you mean she is not the same woman?"
"My sources from Vana'Diel tell me that her memories were wiped and she was left in a land called Spira, as far as I know she hasn't left it."
"Then I must be going right now."
"NO, you will sit down."
Tora was about to say no to Bern, but decided against it. Tora would not stand a chance as he was against him, so it seemed best to listen to what he was about to say.
"We need to get our facts straight, first we will head back to my home there we will get the nessecary supplies and info needed for this. Before we leave we may need some help."
