Another day in Heaven.... -_- (Open, fun, a little adventure) Gohrick, others PM to join

Angry beyond belief, feeling sweaty and exhausted Cru was not a happy kitty at the moment.

She was in some damn jungle, trying to get her butt back to a Garden, any Garden really, after having been on a Chocoboride by herself, exploring this new World, when a bloody great big....thing had emerged from the bushes, lolling it's tongue and waving so much with its front legs that the Chocobo had gotten spooked, thrown her off and run for the hills!

So here she was, in the middle of nowhere, with no idea how to get to civilization and beeing randomely attacked by stupid monsters who had a major Death Wish. Panting in the humid air, she finally halted for a bit, having found a river and a means of cleaning herself. Not giving two hoots; she waded into the cool water and sat down, armor and all, glaring at a nearby monster with massive teeth that was considering eating her then thought better of trying to have her for dinner and instead floated off quietly.

Sighing to herself, she laid down on her back in the shallow river and wondered how to get the heck out of here, when her sharp ears suddenly heard light footsteps approaching.

‘I swear, this forest is going to be the death of me…’ the feline thought to himself, as he jumped up high into a tree branch to take a breather from all the running and screaming and fighting…This jungle was something else. As he took a seat on the branch, he fought back the feeling that this was pointless…it wasn’t the case. Somewhere in this jungle was a Grendal, a strange dragon like creature with blades on its four legs. Why was he hunting for this creature? One word…Valsis. Jiranto claimed he needed the rare item it carried in its body called a Fury Fragment…it could be useful in updating the computer software of the Calamity.

And since Cypher was off in Spira visiting the grave sites of his family, it fell on the feline to go pick it up…great.

With a heavy sigh, he jumped back down on the ground with little noise, before slowly making his way further into the jungle. He paused for a moment, hearing the sound of running water. Thinking it would make a good hunting ground, he slowly made his way closer towards the source of the sounds.

Standing up, the water cascading off her Crucent walked back up on land and took her scorpion harness off, letting it fall to the ground with a heavy clanking noise. Sitting down on the riverbank, she figured it was safe enough to at least relax a little before trying to find a way out of this jungle version of hell and wrung some water out of her light cottoned teeshirt as the sun kept beating down on her.

At least the rest in the river had relaxed her enough that she could think again.
"Right. I guess the best way out of here is to find some high vantage point so I can try and find a direction out of here as soon as possible..."

Leaning back on her arms she looked around. Unfortunately; it was all tall palms and other funny trees she didn't even know the name of, and even if she was agile and light, she knew that trying to climb up one of those would definately be hard, even if she'd use her Claws as help. Grumbling too herself she wished Sin wasn't out exploring another World, she could have used someone who could climb here.

As he continued towards the sound of the river, he paused once again as he heard something that sounded like metal…strange. According to Jiranto and Kyto, the place was far from anyone save for the Garden facility some dozen miles away, which didn’t really use this place to train. He found himself holding his breath and hoping for a friendly face instead of a scene of horror as he slowly started to head towards the river again.

Soon he was standing by the river and found himself looking around, before a strong wind blew, and with it, came the scent of someone quite familiar…

‘No way…why would she be here?’ he thought to himself, shaking his head and chalking it up to the jungle playing tricks with his mind…still, the scent was strong, and he found himself heading up stream, staying close to the river, but keeping his eyes and ears open for anything…he was playing dangerously, staying in the open by the river…especially when there were much bigger things around.

Finally satisfied that she was as dry as she could possibly get in this damp jungle, Crucent grabbed her harness again and slipped it on and fastened the belts before refilling her canteen as she prepared to bloody well bloody climb one of those bloody trees by herself.

Looking hard at them to find the tallest one that also seemed easy to climb Crucent finally spotted one a couple of feet into the wall of trees and walked over too it. As she approached the massive silvery trunk, she strapped on her Claws and then punched straight into the trunk with her fist, allowing her Claw to sink in deeply so she could use it as leverage before doing the same with the other one as her feet easily found hold in the gnarled bark.

“Grrrrrrrrr….”

Gohrick found himself pausing as he heard the deep growling noise behind him, causing him to slowly turn around. It wasn’t a Grendel, but some strange…headless looking creature. And while he didn’t know the name of it…it certainly didn’t seem to matter as it growled deeply once again, and slammed a fist into the ground, causing it to crack.

“Oh boy…” he muttered, before taking a few steps back, slowly unsheathing the Creative License, the ink dripping off of the paint brush. As the smell of ink hit the air, the headless creature somehow roared again, and started off towards Gohrick.

“Crap crap crap…Sharp Edges,” he cursed, before swinging the oversized paintbrush hard, sending several globs of ink out at the creature, which turned sharp and cut deep into the flesh. It cried out in pain ,a cry that echoed out through the jungle, before it started charging at Gohrick again.

At this point, Gohrick though it a good idea to make a tactical retreat, since he was more a distance fighter…and the distance was closing rather quickly. He turned and started to run, pulling out a smaller paint brush as he did and drawing something in the air. It was left in the air as he ran, till the creature ran into it, getting hit hard with a bolt of Lightning, but continued to charge after Gohrick.

“Can’t catch a break!” he cried out as he continued to run.

as Cru was making her way up the tree, she suddenly heard a roar, then someone yelling, then there was a flash of lightning and some more yelling rapidly heading for the riverbank. Curious, she did a quick guess and saw she wasn't too far up yet, so instead she pulled her Claws free and landed on the ground with a soft thud. Making her way back to the river; she waited for a few more minutes until someone that seemed very familiar came bolting out of the thicket, with a huge monster following closely.

Not wasting time she saw the person was Gohrick, of all people, but she didn't have time to ponder that right now, instead she leapt onto the back of the creature that was chasing him then plunged both herClaws into its unprotected flesh on its back. As she kept on pummeling into it, causing it to howl in pain, she yelled at him "Hi Kitty, I hope you don't mind, but it looked like you could use some help!"

Gohrick continued to run hard, coming up with a plan or two to try and deal with this creature, when he suddenly heard it crying out in pain. He turned quickly and saw Cru, of all people, slashing and digging into its back. He gave a faint smile, before, he quickly unsheathed his paint brush again and seemed to glow faintly, before his brush started to blur at the speed he was drawing. Ink was flying everywhere, but standing before him was an exact copy of the Wendigo that had just been chasing him.

“Cru, get back!” he yelled, before the ink counterpart rushed forward and slammed its fist into the original’s chest, the sound of something breaking echoing through the air. Between its bleeding back, and the fact that its chest had now cracked and caved in by way of the inked Sketch, it was slightly scary that it stood up much longer, before it fell down flat on the ground. Gohrick as the Sketch poke it a few times, before it fell to the ground, the area now black with all the ink that was used for drawing.

Taking a few shaky breaths, Gohrick looked up at Cru with a grin.
“Hey…fancy meeting you here,” he said with a slight chuckle, before standing up straight and taking another deep breath. “And thanks…I needed the help,” he said with a slight sigh and a smile.

As she heard him yell at her to get back, Crucent pulled out both her Claws and stood up on its back for a split second before jumpping down and rolling away from it. no sooner had she gotten away before Goh's ink drawing headbutted the monster, making a sickeningly cracking noise and the thing simply collapsed dead on the ground.

Walking over to the river she bent down and washed the blood of her weapons before strapping them back on her hips as she stood up again, smiling at the Mithra. Walking over she gave him a big hug and released him as she said "your Welcome Kitty. It's so good to see you again, you have no idea, but What on earth are you doing here?"

Gohrick simply shook his head as she walked towards the river to clean up her weapons, while Gohrick just shook out his paws and tried to get most of the ink off his fur by flicking it off. He secured his paint brushes and walked over to the dead creature, wondering just what the heck it was. He drew a quick sketch of it, before standing back up and smiling at Cru.

He hugged her back, mindful of his paws so he didn’t get too much ink on her, before standing back with a slight grin. “I could be asking you the same thing Cru. It’s wonderful seeing you, but I never thought I’d catch you in the middle of a jungle…I’m here hunting something called a Grendel for my crew member…he thinks it has something that could help with the computer system…I don’t know how, but he is beyond convinced…” he said with a shake of his head and a wave of his paw.
“And you, what are you doing here?” he asked with a smile, his paws on his hips.

Laughing she shook her head
"would you believe that I am lost? I am currently visiting all the Worlds, then I came here, rented a Chocobo, came though this jungle and some THING attacked, the bird threw me off and ran home. I've been trying to get out since then, with little luck."

Giving him a mirthtful look she tilted her head a little and said "I know your Mithran, but are you sure you don't wanna go wash off the worst of that ink you have on? i'll wait cause I can really use the company, and possibly i'll even find my way out of here too."

“Leader of Vana’Diel, warrior and undisputed champion of the claws, lost in the forest in the World of Eight…I can see the headlines now,” he said with a playful grin, before shaking his head. “I wonder…did you get a good look at what got at ya?” he asked, tilting his head slightly, staring up into her eyes.

He then paused and looked down at himself. He really was covered in ink and sighed slightly. He was so used to it though, and so were most people around him, but then he recalled the last time they had interacted, he had been quite clean pressed and groomed…at the moment, his hair was a mess, he was wearing an old, ripped jacket, his fur was matted and inked, and his jeans were ripped and stained. He certainly wasn’t that classy looking Kitty from before, but still…

“Eh, don’t hold it against me or anything Cru, but I’m used to being covered in ink…it kinda just goes with me…I’ll get cleaned up later,” he said with a shrug, before giving a playful grin. “As for company, well, I’d be honored to keep you company Cru, and I can probably even get us back to the ship with little problem if you so wish, but we won’t be able to leave till I at least find a Grendel…” he said with a slight shrug, scratching the back of his neck.

As he asked about the monster that had attacked her, she tilted her head a little and described it as best she could "let's see... it was big, sandy colored on its back with a blue stripe all the way from its head to the tip of its tail going along its underside. it had powerful legs, walked on all fours. A Horn protruding from it's left frontleg, two more horns in its face and a blue tongue. Why do you want to know?"

Smiling at him, Crucent continued "And i don't mind the Ink one bit, give me a few hours in this place and I won't look so clean myself either, so I think i'll take you up on that offer to follow you to your ship if it means a bath or a shower for me."

Gohrick found himself tilting his head, before pulling out what looked like a deck of cards. As she described the creature, he quickly searched and pulled out a card, matching parts to the creature as she explained what it looked like.

“Huh…well, clearly, you’re the better tracker then I am…without even knowing, you found what I was looking for…or rather, it found you,” he said, before flipping the card for her, pocketing the rest of them, and showing her the creature on it. A Grendel.

“Well…fate certainly has decided to show its face in the oddest of ways today…” he said with a small grin. “And certainly, you could use all the ships facilities to your full pleasure,” he said giving her a playful wink, before taking a look around…It was about evening, and light would be fading fast…

"That's the one! he's the bugger that chased off my bird!!"
Crucent grabbed the card and examined it more closely in the now fading light before looking Into his eyes "That's definately the one that landed me here yeah."

Also noting the darkening evening, she said "Well, it seems we have two options: either make camp here for the night, or make our way back to your ship as soon as possible and frankly I don't like the idea of sleeping out here with all these weird monsters all over the place..." rubbing her shoulder as she was a little sore, she bit her lip thoughtfully and continued "it's up to you really, but i can guarantee you, that either way, we'll definately find that monster anyway. it's just a matter of time."

Gohrick simply nodded and let her hold on to the card. Now that he knew for certain that the creature was here, the hunt was that much closer to being closed.

“Alright…well, let’s head back to the ship and get some shut eye…from there, we can see if you can lead us back to where the creature attacked you…I mean, of course, if you have time to. Oh, what am I saying…I’m acting like you have nothing better to do,” he said, all but face palming as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

“Anyway, come on…it’s a bit of a hike, but if we’re lucky, we’ll get there just as night falls,” he said, giving her a smile before starting to lead the way, following both scent and the scratches he left on the trees.

Laughing at his comment about not having anything better to do, Cru replied "well, i don't have anything better to do, Im lost remember? I don't mind helping you if I can. It's what friends do" Smiling she made a flourish with her hand as she bowed slightly "please, lead the way, o knight in shining armor" and giggled as she follwed him closely now that it was getting darker and more difficult to see where they were going. "And Goh; thank you, for helping me, and offering me a place to sleep safely tonight I really appreciate it alot, I just hope your shipmates won't mind to a random woman appearing tho."

“Yes, you are lost, but before becoming lost, a destination might have been in mind,” he countered with a small grin, turning back and the laughter evident in his eyes. “And honestly, I’m glad for all the help I could get at this point…this kind of work is more for Cypherous…but, since he’s visiting his home world, it’s kinda fallen unto me…since everyone else is too busy with other projects,” he said with a shrug.

“And honestly, no one is going to mind you being around…Promise,” he said with a smile, not having any problems as darkness blanketed the land. He paused for a moment and wrapped his tail around her wrist, before continuing on. As Night settled on the land, he found the way to the grapple that held the ship in place. He punched in the code, before a enclosed platform came down from the ship, and took the two aboard the Calamity. "Besides...your not just some Random woman...your my friend silly," he said with a warm smile.

As they entered the ship Crucent smiled and hugged Goh "Thanks kitty, friends are always nice to have" Letting go of him, she looked around; it was like no other ship she'd ever seen. The dark metal floors with the gold lines was not what she expected, but it looked really stylish all the same.

"Wow, nice place! it's certainly not like the Airships back home thats for sure. they are all wood and cogwheels, this thing is sleek and, dare I say; sexy. Can I get a tour of her?" Looking at Goh with big puppy eyes Cru was almost giddy, hoping he'd agree to it.

It wasn't so much that Crucent was into the mechanics of things, but she did like to see and compare different designs of things, seeing how differently all the Worlds had gone about designing the same things, it was quite remarkable.

Gohrick smiled and gave her a gentle hug back, before observing her as she got her first good look at the metal craftsmanship. He smiled with pride; she might not be his anymore, but the Calamity was always his biggest joy in his life.

“Nah, nothing back home could compare or even compete with the Calamity, and nothing now in Spira could even hold a candle to it. The Calamity is over a thousand years old, found and saved from the deserts of Bikanel Desert of Spira by yours truly and two members on this ship. I would be more than happy to give you the grand tour,” he said with a grin, his tail still on her wrist as they exited the entrance way.

“Well, this is the second floor, which holds most of the bedrooms for the crewmen, as well as Medic ward, the Kitchen, and the Tactical Conference room…mainly Setona’s, Jarebs, and Etzel’s room away from their rooms. Below us are simply the storage rooms and the cannon rooms…weaponing storage, food stock, and a single prison cell,” he explained as they continued to walk down the long hallways, the metal works surrounding them as everything has that dark gold and brown metal. As they continued to walk, one of the doors slid open and a tall Viera came out with a slight smile on her face.

“Ah, Gohrick, I thought I heard you…and who is this?” she asked with a polite smile, her long bunny ears twitching slightly as she crossed her arms over her chest, wearing a simple white tank top and shorts.

Looking around Crucent hung on his every word as Goh explained about the ship " It really is stunningly beautiful, those who made her was truly craftsmen..." Cru was so busy admiring the Ship that she didn't even notice his tail still holding her but when the door slid open she did manage to focus on the other lady with the incredibly long ears, and Cru was no stranger to long ears herself.

Smiling at her she said "My name is Crucent, I'm a friend of Gohricks. I hope you don't mind me beeing here, but my Chocobo ran away, and well, he found me and said I could spend the night here. Right now he's just giving me a tour of this ship."

Etzel smiled and held out her hand in a friendly handshake. “A pleasure to meet you Crucent. I am Etzel. And please, there is no need to explain, any friend of Gohrick is equally a friend of mine, and is already welcomed by the ship,” she said with a grin. “I hope you enjoy your time here,” she said with a bow of her head, before turning towards Gohrick.

“Gohrick, Kyto wanted me to tell you to meet him on the top deck when you got back…I’m assuming there was trouble?” she asked, poking his ink covered fur with a long finger.

“Only slight trouble…alright though, I’ll see him when I get up there. He can sweat it a bit, since he’s not the one down there,” he said with a playful grin, causing Etzel to smile.

“Alright, I’ll leave you two…pleasant night,” she said, before closing the door.

“Hm…well, since its on the way, I’ll show you the next level up as well,” he said with a smile, and leading her to the first level, showing the poker room, the door to his own room as first mate, the navigational room, and the captain’s quarters.

“Now…I know you probably want to rest…please, feel free to use my room if you so wish, it has the best shower in the ship, but don’t tell anyone else I said that,” he said with a playful grin.
“I just have to find out what Kyto wanted, but your free to move about the ship as you see fit Cru,” he said with a grin.

Having walked into his room she turned her head slowly as she looked around, it was a very big room, easily almost the size of her own ships bedroom. The furniture was nice, a thick carpet was on the floor, but there was only one bed tho...

Owell, nodding gratefully at Gohs offer Crucent replied "yes, I think a shower right now would be heaven on earth. But... is there any spare clothes I can borrow, while I clean my own armor? a big shirt or something, it doesn't have to be anything fancy. It's just so I won't have towalk around on the ship buck naked or sleep in the nude as it were..." Raising her eyebrow, she gave him a playful smile "... despite the fact that it would be ...quite intresting to try" Giving him a small wink she walked over to a door, and looked into a bathroom and was instantly gratified when she saw the shower, wich was big just as promised before returning back to Goh with a big smile on her face.

"I think this will do just fine indeed, thanks again" Giving him a small kiss on the chin, she felt alot more relaxed, knowing she'd actually sleep, clean and warm in a bed tonight, and not stuck out in that jungle instead.

Gohrick smiled as she seemed quite happy with the shape his room was in, and seemed even happier at the sight of the shower. “Please, just make yourself at home Cru. Anything we have here, is made available for you,” he said with a grin, before giving her a gentle hug.

He found himself blushing slightly though, at the thought of Cru walking around the ship naked, and it caused him to space for a few seconds, before he shook his head clear. He cleared his throat and found his cheeks even hotter before he swallowed hard. “Hm, well, I can get you some extra clothing for ya and leave it on the bed. You just go enjoy your shower Cru,” he said, shivering slightly from the kiss on the chin. He shook his head slightly with a smile and a wave of his hand.

“No need for thanks, just enjoy,” he said, before leaving her to her shower, pulling out some spare clothing for her and leaving it on the bed, before walking out of the room.

He headed to the top deck and found Kyto by the Wheel of Fate.

“So, what did you need?”
“How was the hunt?”
“Bah…bastard’s hiding good…but I think I have a lead. We’ll get that Fury Fragment…Now, why don’t you explain to me why it’s so important?” Gohrick countered, not enjoying the feeling as though he was under Kyto.
“Well…it contains enzymes that could be bio engineered and manipulated to help speed up the ship’s programming…”
“So…using life to speed up computers? That’s some dangerous territory Kyto…”
“I know, but…”
“I’ll get you one, and only one…after that, your on your own if you want more…” Gohrick said, his voice low, but confident. “I don’t like this side of you Kyto…your treding in the dark a bit too much…”
From there, the two continued to talk for about half an hour, before Gohrick headed back down to his quarters to grab some clothing for himself, planning on sleeping in the captain’s room, since he wasn’t around.

After Goh left her to herself, Crucent grabbed the clean clothing and towel, then went to the bathroom where she took off her armor and rinsed it then put it away in a corner to dry before she got in the shower as well, letting the warm water cascade over her as she found a fairly neutral-smelling soap and cleaned herself up.
After some time, when the bathroom was filled wall to wall with steam, she finally felt clean again and turned the shower off then grabbed the towel and stepped out, drying herself off.

When she was satisfied that she was completely dry, she hung the towel up to dry then took the big button-up shirt Goh had left her and giggled as she held it up too herself, it was huge! Clearly, whoever owned this thing was a bit taller then her but she didn't mind. She liked to wear either as little as possible, or something loose when she was asleep, so after taking it on, she felt alot better and smiled happily even if the thing went down to her knees and made her look like a small child in her fathers shirt.
Wanting something to read, she looked around the room and allthough there were indeed books on the shelves, they were mostly books on different drawing techniques, wich wasn't really her thing. Drumming her fingers on a table she decided to tiptoe out into the hallway and see if there possibly was a library anywhere on this ship.
She remembered that Gohrick had told her wich room was what, even who owned them, so she turned her head and looked at the only dooor he hadn't mentioned that was at the end of the hallway. Walking on light feet she soon stood in front of the door and decided a knock would be good.

Waiting a few seconds there was no response, so, she felt the handle, and to her surprise it opened easily to another large room, discreetly yet luxuriously furnished as if to say that the person who lived here knew what they liked but only in moderate amounts. She noted happily however that the shelves here were filled with books, and looking back towards the door, she heard nothing so she went up to them and started examining the names; quickly loosing track of both the time and the place.
